Pfizer Responds to Research Claims

New York, N.Y., January 27, 2023 – Allegations have recently been made related to gain of function and directed evolution research at Pfizer and the company would like to set the record straight.

In the ongoing development of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer has not conducted gain of function or directed evolution research. Working with collaborators, we have conducted research where the original SARS-CoV-2 virus has been used to express the spike protein from new variants of concern. This work is undertaken once a new variant of concern has been identified by public health authorities. This research provides a way for us to rapidly assess the ability of an existing vaccine to induce antibodies that neutralize a newly identified variant of concern. We then make this data available through peer reviewed scientific journals and use it as one of the steps to determine whether a vaccine update is required.

In addition, to meet U.S. and global regulatory requirements for our oral treatment, PAXLOVID™, Pfizer undertakes in vitro work (e.g., in a laboratory culture dish) to identify potential resistance mutations to nirmatrelvir, one of PAXLOVID’s two components. With a naturally evolving virus, it is important to routinely assess the activity of an antiviral. Most of this work is conducted using computer simulations or mutations of the main protease–a non-infectious part of the virus. In a limited number of cases when a full virus does not contain any known gain of function mutations, such virus may be engineered to enable the assessment of antiviral activity in cells. In addition, in vitro resistance selection experiments are undertaken in cells incubated with SARS-CoV-2 and nirmatrelvir in our secure Biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratory to assess whether the main protease can mutate to yield resistant strains of the virus.

Pfizer essentially = China. Both PFizer and China lie. There are CCP members on Pfizers investments board.

There is a reason why Pfizer wanted to conceal their data for 75 years, this is just one more.

Must be why wastewater treatment facilities are being tested…. New variants show up there first.

Well written for obfuscation. Computer simulations (safe) pushed up against mutations (science with viruses - much more risky to public health) as if it’s even in the same category. Clever use of language are the red shiny bows on all lies.

Short version

We don’t do gain of function

But sometimes when computer models don’t cut it, we outsource work related to gain of function

Also let’s release this late on a Friday evening…

WTF?
We don’t do it but we do?

‘In a limited number of cases when a full virus does not contain any known gain of function mutations, such virus may be engineered to enable the assessment of antiviral activity in cells.’

engineered (isn’t that gain of function?) to infect cells (aborted human fetal cell lines or humanized animals?). so they find a non-gain-of-function and make it gain-of-function. sorry that’s how it reads to me.

‘In addition, in vitro resistance selection experiments are undertaken in cells incubated with SARS-CoV-2...’

selection experiments with SARS-CoV2? or variants engineered them based on SARS-CoV2? so fetal cells are infected and the experiment tests how well the cells (respiratory?) ‘resist’ various infection by chimeras of SARS-CoV2? so to force the generation of new variants?

‘...and nirmatrelvir (PAXLOVID) in our secure Biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratory to assess whether the main protease can mutate to yield resistant strains of the virus.’

to see if the virus evolves superbugs under the effects of their ‘vaccines?’

right. imo, Pfizer needs to be sued into oblivion.

Some defense.

They’re saying they don’t use serial passage in animal models, or directed evolution studies in cell lines, but, oh, mumble mumble we do use CRSPR to directly modify viral lineages to test our antiviral drug.

Which just happens to be the method everyone suspects, but can’t quite prove, that was used by the WIV to create the original virus.

Wild.

The interesting bit is that they didn’t deny anything this guy said or that he did indeed work for them in the position stated by Veritas.
