RNC members are gathering in Dana Point, California this week to decide whether or not to re-elect Chair Ronna McDaniel, and the only thing higher than the tensions are the prices at the posh resort hosting the GOP get-together.
A report by S.V. Dáte at the Huffington Post spells out exactly how painful those prices are at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club.
“Room rates over a thousand a night,” Dáte tweeted about his article. “Parking is $75. Breakfast will cost $50 or $60. And you’ll drop $100 at dinner without breaking a sweat.”
That room rate starts at $1,283 for Wednesday night, plus a $55 “resort fee,” according to the Waldorf Astoria’s website, which brags that it is “the perfect blend of Southern California’s legendary laid-back luxury and the iconic culture of True Waldorf Service,” an “elegant AAA Five-Diamond retreat” that is “[p]erched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff and featuring a private beach club.” Thursday will be a little easier on the wallet with rooms starting at $881 (plus that resort fee again).

Classic “stupid party” decision making under Rona McDaniel. dId they really think no one in the media would notice?
“ They need to stay a Day’s Inn, Red Roof Inn, or Motel 6.”
Excuse me, I’m a snob. I would never stay at a Motel 6. You’ll find me with the right class of people at Red Roof Inn or Travelers Lodge. BTW, I bring my own sheets.
What good has the buffoon, Ronna, done? The RNC should be run by someone with MAGA gravitas.
This is part of the reason Harmeet Dhillon is running for the RNC chair
You can get a suite in Vegas for about one-sixth that cost. At the Trump Hotel.
‘...party of the ‘working class.’
lol. we need Mike Lindell. badly.
Unlike a real estate event I went to where VIP access was an exercise in humiliation with the perk of a backpack that looked like it was off a homeless person, or could be street camo. I told them it didn’t go with my outfits. I didn’t expect over-the-top, but I had to wonder if Antifa planned it. All I wanted was to not stand in a line because of my health at 63. The non-VIPS got in faster and didn’t have a backpack gifted they were expected to fill for the homeless. Forced giving doesn’t work for me, and the obvious social engineering was done by morons. Affirmative Action and lowering college requirements have serious social effects.
Ronna chose this to keep the MAGA rif-raff out.
$75 to park.
I hear you loud and clear!
“I bring my own sheets.”
To bury the hookers in…am I right?…
I dunno. Named a virus after her, I guess.
I just booked a few nights for a work trip at $190 a night and consider that too high. I travel a lot, don’t have any specific travel budget but I’m cheap. I’ve stayed at Four Seasons and Waldorf Hotels before. I truly don’t like them.
A bed, shower and breakfast satisfies my needs.
Exactly. It is an image and message and attitude thing.
You would be amazed how much and how fast belt tightening goes on when you have someone sweep the business taking credit cards and cancelling subscriptions and memberships.
Learned that lesson up close and personal before practicing it myself😊😊
$1,283 for Wednesday night, plus a $55 “resort fee,
Couple of years ago I spent two weeks in Rome, one block from the Vatican in a very nice place, clean sheets, comfy bed and GREAT breakfast for about half that.
that venue says all the wrong things. Whoever is involved in selecting and approving it should be removed from any Republican leadership position.
Clean, quiet and comfortable were my minimums. I have paid hundreds for a room and did not sleep any better than at the Hampton Inn.
One night in Hong Kong at a pricey layover hotel I asked the leggy girl at the desk if for that price I was going to have to spend the night alone? She didn’t laugh.
I would be staying at the Motel 6 and commuting to the meetings daily -— like I have for Texas Republican meetings..
