The technical term for this is "confabulate", filling in gaps in memory by making up stories. This happens to Biden when his medications wear off.
It is quite possible to view Zelensky as a grifter and the government of Ukraine as incompetent kleptocrats while still rooting for the collapse and dismemberment of the Russian Empire.
No Russia isn’t *quite* the existential enemy that China or Islam is, but Patton was right (and any titular name change and supposed change in governmental structure means nothing), we have to fight them sooner or later, and breaking them down when their leader makes a massive strategic error is a great use of our money and energy.

From the beginning I have called it the Obama / Biden Regime. While Obama and his minions are still at it, I remind myself that Obama had his own puppet masters. Without a teleprompter Obama would often babble, and fall back to the Alinsky diatribes he memorized.
Obama’s puppet masters are using Biden to print and steal as much as possible before the $$$ spigot is turned off. While they are working on a permanent, neverending $$$ faucet, they know it might someday end. The internal destruction is important, just not as important as the $$$.
Biden, or whoever runs in 2024, will probably remain in the basement again. We will work and pray that more election reforms tamp down the fraud.
