The policy covers pronoun usage, preferred bathrooms and diversity training for staff
A school district in Pennsylvania recently released a proposed policy that prohibits educators from informing parents of their child's gender identity or preferred pronouns unless required by law.
The Upper Moreland School District's proposed policy on "Transgender and Gender Diverse Students" was discussed at a school board meeting on Jan. 17.
Pronoun usage, preferred bathrooms and diversity training for staff are all covered under the new policy.

Stuck on stupid. Either you’re a male or a female...XX or XY.
Do what you want...but it doesn’t change your DNA...just your screwed up head.
ARTH ping.
I keep thinking of the tomboys I recall going to K-12 school with who grew up to be attractive women. I imagine today’s schools and some parents would ruin their lives at a young age. Sigh.
There ought to be a law or laws requiring teachers or the entire education systemm to teach the academics ONLY; namely, reading, writing, math, science, history, economics.
Any other subject beyond the academics, is none of their business. Violations will mean termination of the teachers in question, and/or defunding the school.
Gender identity is none of the schools’ business.
Pull your kids out of here. Residents, threaten not to pay your exorbitant School taxes?
Only a cult tells its followers to disassociate from its family.
Don’t let your children or grandchildren anywhere near groomer teachers. You don’t hear teachers and their unions speak against this crap because they really don’t give a damn about children. It’s all about pay and benefits increases. They need to be in the unemployment line and never around children again.
It figures. Upper Moreland School District is a north Philadelphia suburb. /spit
Good luck with that. That requires teachers to be literate.
Gender identity doesn’t belong in any schools.
“ There ought to be a law or laws requiring teachers or the entire education systemm to teach the academics ONLY; namely, reading, writing, math, science, history, economics.”
That would be great except that is blatantly racist
Old: Parents loved and cared for their own children and made sure they got the best education. Parent-teacher meetings let the school personnel and the children know parents cared. Many couples moved to a different area because “the schools are better there.”
New: The government controls education and permits the parents limited knowledge of the details. It Takes A Village means instead of the parents.
In the new Michigan amendment to the state constitution, along with abortions being secret from parents, the schools do not have to inform them when their child is being given hormones by shots to alter their bodies’ sex.
“Gender identity is none of the schools’ business.”
Sex Ed was none of the schools business 50 years ago but it got sex into the school…and here we are.

In PA you don’t remotely have the parental rights you think you do.
Nurse calls and tells you your kid in school has a headache, you can’t tell her give them a couple of aspirin and send them back to class.. Oh no.. you need a doctors signed approval on their formal forms saying you may give them any over the counter meds... and no you can’t just have your doctor say “any over the counter meds” but need to spell out every single med.
Your kind pregnant? You don’t have a right to know.
Kid has HIV? Nope you have no parental right to know.
IN fact, once they reach, the age of either 12 or 14 can’t remember which, you as a parent have absolutely no right to certain aspects of your child’d medical records in PA.
And believe me PA is NOT alone in this.
