Most semi-automatic pistols are magazine fed. Since it is California, the specific model of pistol has to be on their "approved list" to be legal. Almost anything with a magazine capacity greater than 10 rounds would be "illegal".

So you can’t have a handgun with a magazine in California anymore? I thought they only outlawed magazines that held 10 rounds or more, and then that was found to be unconstitutional.
