one of the first things I checked on before the freeze hit that weekend was those vents. I figured Hubby had already closed the - he had - but I wanted to double-check to be sure. He’d wrapped the pipes several years ago, plus there’s a vent from the central unit blowing air under the house year-round.
The water was turned off at the old house when we moved over here 3 years ago so there were no worries where that was concerned.
The people who bought the house across the road, and still haven’t moved in, had some problems. They’ve been over there almost every day the past couple of weeks, I assume cleaning up. He dug a trench from the end of the house across the yard and to the ditch but I don’t know what he’s draining unless he has a flooded basement and a pump pulling the water out. I met him briefly once and know they’re from CA.
It’s an old house that’s been renovated but they were there to monitor things that weekend.
I kept my eyes on everything around here. Fortunately, everything behaved.
Hubby’s cousin can’t wear the clothes. He’s quite a bit taller than Hubby was.
You did an excellent job keeping everything at your home running properly during that freeze. Even if it did mean going out in the frigid air to check on those well heaters. You can be proud!
