WASHINGTON, D.C. -- For the first time in Gallup’s two-decade trend, less than half of Americans are complimentary about the quality of U.S. healthcare, with 48% rating it “excellent” or “good.” The slight majority now rate healthcare quality as subpar, including 31% saying it is “only fair” and 21% -- a new high -- calling it “poor.”
The latest excellent/good rating for U.S. healthcare quality is just two percentage points lower than in 2021; however, it is well below the 62% high point twice recorded in the early 2010s. It also trails the average 55% reading since 2001.
These findings are from Gallup’s annual Health and Healthcare survey. The latest update was conducted Nov. 9-Dec. 2, 2022.
A key reason views of U.S. healthcare quality have been trending downward in recent years is that Republicans’ positive ratings have been subdued since President Donald Trump left office. Currently, 56% of Republicans rate healthcare quality as excellent or good, whereas 69% felt this way in 2020 and 75% in 2019. Republicans’ views of healthcare quality also dropped in 2014 after implementation of the Affordable Care Act before rebounding under Trump. Meanwhile, Democrats’ positive ratings have been steady at a lower level (currently 44%).

I’ve noticed doctors seem to have a new disdain of their patients as well.
Gov’t run healthcare is killing people.
Lobby-Care-Creep.
Tell people that something is bad long enough and loud enough and often enough and they will come to think it is bad.
Screw them. If they are going to keep voting for the far-left creeps, they deserve everything they get.
Well, it has certainly gone downhill since Obamacare and the plandemic brought out the worst in the medical industry.
They can expect it to get worse with all the freeloading foreign invaders coming in to get their free healthcare. Many of them brought their elderly family members with them. They’ll be needing a lot of “healthcare.”
Getting “woke” to the Biomedical-Pharmace$uetical Complex.
The medical community enjoying govt mandated retainers... what could go wrong?
Medical Care has quickly become an adversarial system, much like the Legal System.
The future looks bleak.
Just taking what the CDC, your local Big Medicine Bureaucracy and your face to face MD say should happen should be deeply questioned.
You are on your own to decide which ways to go.
You nailed it.
” Many of them brought their elderly family members with them”.
I’ve seen hundreds of pictures of the mobs coming up here and have not seen a single elderly person. Elderly people could not endure what the young ones have. They will bring their extended families up here but not yet.
I neglected to include your Medical Insurance Company on the list of adversaries.
Exactly...
With Democrats, it’s all about acquiring control. So they invent everything. Create a crisis that doesn’t exist and convince you that immediate action is necessary.
Then when they get the legislation they want, it’s the same press-release... “Democrats again have successfully averted a crisis!”
Invent anything that requires more legislation and more Democrats in power to fix it. Doesn’t matter what it is. Invent a crisis and blame the cause on the republicans! Make speeches and MSM interviews that repeat and pump the fake ad nauseam crisis at every corner! A crisis in democracy! A crisis in racism, oppression, rights, violence, guns, fascism, division, poverty, wages, hate, discrimination and sell it every day 24/7 until the electorate is so inundated by the Democratic party invented boogieman, that the electorate just wants the fake-crisis fixed!
On the debate stage and on crisis segments staged by the scripted MSM Q & A interviews... the democrat is seen as the savior and the Republican is seen as the insensitive and dispassionate denier unwilling to admit the problem exists and in the end gets mocked and ridiculed by the MSM and DNC!
... all according to plan!
Poll people about if they think government should ‘fix’ healthcare.
I bet the result would depress the hell out of most of us.
Healthcare is mediocre at best. There is an occasional doctor who shines, but it’s becoming rarer and rarer.
And it’s not just doctors who look down on non-medical people. The whole system is full of people who are full of themselves.
The condescension and pretense are disgusting. I didn’t go into medicine because I chose not to, not because I couldn’t handle the intellectual rigor or subject matter.
It is bad. And that is experience, not brainwashing.
Lets cut to the chase, not only is govt run healthcare killing people as a poster to this thread has already observed, but doctors, nurses, pharmacists and the whole medical complex chose to kill people and profit from it.
The medical complex chose to lie, prevent effective treatments and demonize those who dared save lives. The medical complex continues to push ineffective treatments (at best) and/or kill our children and young adults and hide behind politics to excuse it.
The medical complex is not in congruence with their hippocratic oath, so holds no moral grounds for practicing medicine without fully and completely addressing its errors and the harms they caused their patients and society in general.
I dont know how to fix medicine today. But it is in urgent need of repair of both accountability and the proper professional practice of medicine.
Phrase the poll question like this.....
“In light of the government’s proven ability to manage the post office, the DMV, and the IRS, how do you feel about them managing your personal healthcare?”
