It took them a long time to decide a charge, possibly to wait for the emotions to die down so they could slap his hands and walk away.

Baldwin is now wishing he had killed a cop instead so he could at least have a news slot.

Yes!! About time. But not to worry...he'll never spend a moment in jail...
But I'd sure as hell take away his passport.
And I'm sure he will turn over ALL...every dime...of his assets to his wife.

True conservatives will refrain from projecting Alec Baldwin guilty simply because we rightly find his politics repugnant.

Apparently the DA couldn't reach a plea agreement with Baldwin, so they ended up charging him with a felony.
Now they have more leverage to force Baldwin to accept a misdemeanor plea deal.
Baldwin wasn't just an actor, he was co-producer of the movie, so if he accepts any responsibility, i.e. takes any plea deal, that will be used against him in civil court by the families suing the production.

He said the gun fired by itself. ...Aided by a very ANGRY trigger finger due to Baldwin's rage at his film crew on that day for walking off due to lousy working conditions.

I blame the armorer MORE than Baldwin...
I actually would not blame Baldwin at all if he was not in charge... but he fired the original gun safety team, and hired the incompetent crew.
They then used the real guns for practice with live ammo. The guns should never have made it back into storage without being cleaned and being UNLOADED.
Then they gave a loaded gun to Baldwin.
So, like I said - I actually blame the armorer more, but Baldwin hired them.

Production companies have insurance, and Baldwin’s personal assets differ from the company’s assets.
That’s my understanding, but I’m not a lawyer. Anybody here know?

It's well past time for this. The delay may make it simpler for his counsel to get a slap on the wrist for this reprehensible entertainment industry nitwit.

Agreed nb but should we ever point a gun at someone we aren’t intending to shoot?
Had it happened in the context of a movie scene with proper protocols being followed I wouldn’t have charged him. Just the armorer or whoever is responsible.
