Where in the Constitution does it say people must live in fear of powerful weapons? (barf alert)

When guns are used to threaten or shoot at people, they paint a target on the backs of free expression and democracy as well spreading death and injuries.

On Monday, Solomon Peña, a failed Republican political candidate in New Mexico, was charged with organizing and participating in a scheme with four other men to fire bullets into the homes of four Democratic lawmakers. It was just another example of firearms being used in a way that could quell free and open debate.

One of the guns the assailants reportedly carried was an automatic rifle that could have, by firing many more bullets over a wider target area, injured or killed the occupants of those homes, had it not jammed. Fortunately, the occupants of the homes were not hit.

It is that exponential lethality of powerful firearms that led lawmakers in Illinois to ban assault-style rifles and high-capacity magazines with a bill Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed on Jan. 10. The law also banned rapid-fire devices known as switches because they turn firearms into fully automatic weapons. Even if the Illinois law is upheld in court, it won’t stop all shootings, but it could save many lives and prevent many injuries. It also will reduce the fear of those in a public space they will encounter someone with a weapon that can spread instant carnage.

Do they mean fear because Biden is threatening the people with F15s and nuclear weapons?

The Constitution is a restriction on federal government power, not a restriction on we, the people.

Meaningless.

Fear is a voluntary position. The Constitution can do nothing about it. You can fear voting too, so what.

As I believe Justice Thomas said, the decision as to whether or not it was safe for ordinary people to own firearms was made in 1791.

Where does it say that downstate farmers and other rural residents must live subject to the whims and phobias of the urban/suburban professional-managerial class?

DING, DING, DING, DING!!!

We have a winner.

Johnny, what do we have for jpp?

Johnny? Johnny?

Well, it looks like your only reward is the comfort and fortitude in knowing and understanding the Constitution, only legal bulwark against federal tyranny which abounds.

The second part to the question is did or does the federal government exist or have any power apart from the Constitution? IOW, if it is not a power specifically enumerated in the Constitution, is it a legitimate federal power?

Powerful weapons lie there doing nothing until one of the Democrats’ pet felons picks one up to do his masters’ work. How else will their Cloward-Piven strategy succeed if they can’t terrorize defenseless people?

When you see a convicted felon out in society committing more crimes, you are seeing someone doing his masters’ work.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Nope. All powers not enumerated are the province of the states

Well you know more than most.

Would that all Americans and Patriots had that understanding - we probably wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in right now.

Shout it from the rooftops whenever you can...

It's there in lack and white but people either don't read it or don't care or both. Many probably don't know where to look because the Left withheld primary education of the Constitution and the Bible so they could lie through their teeth and get away with it.

How I hate the left.

Anyway hope you do what you can to educate as many as possible. A knowledgeable and fierce minority could still win the day as they did in 1776.

Believe me, I do try to educate whenever I can. In the interest of full disclosure, I am one of those dastardly mouthpieces. However, I am one of the few conservative ones - no ABA membership and a Scalia-type textualist view of the Constitution, which in my opinion, is one of the greatest political documents ever written in the entire world history, on par with the Magna Carta.

Evil people should live in everlasting fear of good people with powerful weapons. IMO

Guess the writer doesn’t know that weapons are inanimate.

“charged with organizing and participating in a scheme with four other men to fire bullets into the homes of four Democratic lawmaker”

Wait a minute here. There’s a law against that?
