Since 2013 Amazon let its customers choose a charity. Then 0.5% of the customer’s purchase went to that charity. It was a nice thing to do.

I chose a conservative religious charity, and was pleasantly surprised to have Amazon accept it. Well, that’s all going away. It seems that Amazon wasn’t happy with our choices. Not enough “impact”.

It’s their company. They can do what they want. It’s a disappointing decision, nevertheless.

They are taking the money that went to our charities and giving it to their Mega Charities.

Agree. I had selected American Center for Law and Justice (Jay Seculow’s group) back when Smile began - starting that relationship. I’m in total agreement Amazon is distressed we all didn’t give to abortionists, homofascists, and black nationalists, so they have ended the program.

So now you’d have to deal with AmazonFrown.

Amazon is shutting down all animal charities on February 10.

Giving corporations money to give to charities is a way of them getting a tax write-off for free.

If you give money to your favorite charities directly then you can write it off on your taxes.

I give to charities that serve the disabled, kids and animals. Not to charities that cater to adults who don’t want to work, I have experience with that but it’s a long story...

VERY disappointing!

but not surprising ... amazon will donate the same amount of money to their choice of ultra-woke, hard-left, fascist outfits ... more impactful that way, you know ...

They don’t want you to contribute - JUST YOUR MONEY TO BLM, DEI, ETC.

Big NGOs will manipulate the public and impose social “equity” programs in a coordinated way, with mega funding behind them.

Unfortunate. I have utilized Smile for every purchase to benefit Project Veritas since Smile was implemented.

Jerks. It will probably go to organizations promoting pedophilia.

Whenever companies ask me at checkout if I want to round up to the nearest dollar to contribute to THEIR charity, I ask them if they want to round down to the nearest dollar to contribute to mine.

Maybe Walmart will take up where Amazon has dropped the ball.
Or Ebay.

Disappointing is right. I chose Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network. Bobby Schindler has done great work.

Well that stinks. I have used my local listener-supported Christian radio station as my Amazon Smile beneficiary for many years now. I think they have been getting $3-400 a year from this program, so not a huge hit but will probably hurt some. As others have said, suspect the money will go to leftist groomers in the future.

Satan can’t stand anything that benefits Christian organizations doing God’s work and spreading the Gospel. I am saddened by this decision . . . but it is out of the “end times” script.

Amazon is shutting down all animal charities on February 10.

Wow. My Amazon Smile charity is indeed an animal charity, where a group of veterinarians heal up stray animals so they can be adopted out instead of put down. Why is Amazon restricting our chosen charities now? What if I don't care for any of their "mega charities"?
