That’s true. I was just pointing out how the Illinois Supreme Court is currently constructed. Because there will be challenges filed in state court, as well.
For example, 87 Illinois counties have just filed a challenge in the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.
State courts are iffy but downstate is hopeful.
Each time higher courts rule against them, they will make a slight tweak to the law, pass it again, and once more impose their will upon the citizens. Then it has to wind its way through the courts one more time.
These states use our own tax dollars to take away our Constitutional rights. There needs to be penalties for their actions such as jail and large monetary fines for those that introduce, vote for, and sign such legislation.

But the Illinois Supreme Court will eventually get it because no matter what the lower state courts find, the ruling will be appealed.
Our best shot is the federal court (and eventually SCOTUS) knocking down the unconstitutional law.

The time is now. NRA or whoever needs to get the lawsuits racked up quickly. I don’t really trust the USSC to do the right thing even now, but it’s a lot better shot than it will be without Thomas or a few others.
Of course, we all know they are afraid of scary looking guns. My Mini-14 is basically an AR without the pistol grip.

One of my farmer friends shot a nice buck during regular season, then took a doe today during the special doe season. He uses his AR to kill pigs and needs a high-capacity mag. A dead pig laid on the side of the road for a week and the buzzards wouldn’t touch.
I leave my house at 4:30 every morning and have to drive 20 mph until I get off my county road. Had to stop for a group of 7 deer last week (3 nice bucks and 5 does). See several most mornings. Most weeks at least one deer gets nailed overnight. That’s in a 2-mile stretch.

I bought it in 2016 when Hillary was running against Trump, and she was going to come after our guns.
I have not shot it nearly as much as I would like to.
Wether or not we take these guns out and shoot them, or not; people like us are not the problem.
The particular firearm isn’t even the problem.
The “US -vs- them” mentality was created by Big Government so they can gain control over us.
If they were really interested in stopping gun crime, they would be going after the people causing it all.
So who’s paying for all these lawyers? We are, both sides, our taxes support the opposition and our donations support the organizations suing. It’s all about making gun ownership more expensive. When we win the lawsuits they’ll simply pass another law, we’ll sue, it’s an endless money train.
