The eldest son of the late Martin Luther King Jr. said Monday that the country is “gonna get there on voting rights” and deliver on his father’s legacy.
Martin Luther King III during an appearance on CNN critiqued restrictions that impede Americans from casting their ballots and said the country has work to do on shoring up voting legislation and making access to the polling place easier.
“It’s going to be quite difficult for any of that to happen with this Republican-led Congress, but we have to keep exerting pressure on them. Nothing happened in the modern Civil Rights movement until it happened,” he said.
“And so my point is, as we’re exerting pressure, we will get there. Now, It may not be this year, but we’re gonna get there on voting rights,” he added.

Special treatment is NOT equal treatment.
Re #1, the voting rights act of 1965 put this in concrete.what’s he flapping about?
Q: Why does Martin Luther King inspire so much ugly sculpture?
He doesn’t really have any other hymn to sing except da reparashunz rap
So he just keeps parotting crap from ‘63
EXACTLY!
I have a dream. A dream where every legal American citizen, regardless of color, race, sexual orientation, can register to vote by the laws of the States wherein they reside without intimidation. Further, that person’s vote will be counted in a free and fair election that does not include illegal aliens, ballot harvesting, computer cheating, foreign governments interfering, ballot stuffing. The individual voice should be heard, and not diluted by illegal voting or voting practices. That is my dream.
I think we got there..and kept going until we ended up in the swamp.
They’ve got voting rights.
Does he do the rumble voice, too?
Damn trouble maker.
He knows that everyone that wants to vote can vote and even some that are dead vote. He is just stirring chit like the poverty pimp that he is. Born with a chip on his shoulder and never will be happy. If everything is not served to him on a silver platter it isn’t enough.
Damn fool, liar and agitator.
The “cradle of civilization” still having tribal wars and no better off than they were 500 years ago.
If they didn’t have the white man to blame they would have to face up to their own failure.
I guess we could say the Democratic Party has gone from denying blacks the vote to the convenience of voting for them.
He is saying, "I sure miss the good old days on the white master's plantation and I want to see how we blacks can return to that bliss."
In that blacks are now outnumbered by Hispanics, and soon to be even more marginalized by illegals being handed voting “access”, he is using an outdated script. Voting needs to be tightened up so that only U.S. citizens can vote. The idea that any significant number of contemporary American black people of sound mind are too incapable to obtain a voter registration is ludicrous. He’s helping dig their grave as the “favored” minority.
It sounds like what he really wants is for felons/convicts to be able to vote. Everybody knows they are innocent, but persecuted by mean wipepo. /s
Waht the hell is he talking about?
MLK was one of the first winners of the Margaret Sanger award for abortion rights.
At one point, whites had the vote and very few blacks were able to vote. The 15th amendment was supposed to ensure voting rights for black men but it wasn’t until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that it became a reality everywhere. Maybe the progress MLK III wants is to take voting rights away from whites. In the past literacy tests were used to prevent blacks from voting (even when they were literate). Maybe he wants anti-racism tests—whites who fail the test would not be allowed to vote.
Not far from the truth about what they are teaching them. Back in the mid 80's in college I was waiting outside of a classroom for my class. The previous class was a black history class. The "professor" was telling the students that the blacks built the pyramids and they were used as communications platforms all across Africa and they were faster than the telegraph system that was built by the US in the 1800's - implying that the idea was stolen from the Africans. After the class a student went up to the "professor" in an outrage and yelled to the "professor" -" Doctor. I feel I was robbed !!!"
Best post of the day. However… I am trying to reconcile what they say with reality. If people, of color or people of no color are working, banking or driving, then they have ID. If they can do those things then a simple registration and vote are a piece of cake.
The reality is, why do they speak as though citizens are hepless.. and why are people buying a lie.
Well.. it’s the same lie of old. Did God really say? Yes.. He did. In fact we are so darn closely related it shows up in Dr Nathaniel Jeansens genetic truths. 8 related people walked off the ark with their darn near perfect geonome.. and here we are.
I’m not saying anyone should pay attention to him, just that he’s too stupid to realize what a sham the whole radial grievance industry is. I don’t believe he’s a malicious POS like the Obamas or Jackson Lee.
