DNIPRO/KYIV, Ukraine, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Russia and Belarus will begin joint air force drills on Monday, which have triggered fears in Kyiv and the West that Moscow could use its ally to launch a new ground offensive in Ukraine.

Minsk says the drills are defensive, and since Moscow used its neighbour as a springboard for its invasion of Ukraine last February Belarus has conducted numerous military exercises, both on its own and jointly with Russia.

Minsk says the drills are defensive

... and definitely NOT a prelude to another unprovoked attack, like the last time.

It’s time for the West to start arming the Belarusian opposition to Lukashenko. Poland, Lithuania and Latvia all border Belarus, but only Poland likely has the guts to do that.

It is hard to blame the Baltic States for reluctance to antagonize Russia. They suffered under the rule of the Communists for 50 years, and before that, the Tsars. They are NATO members, but as small countries, they have fewer resources than Ukraine and they fear that the West will abandon them, as was the case in 1940.

Russia fired an anti-ship missile that hit the building in Donbas, Ukraine. It was a Kh-22 with a 1,000 kg warhead. The Kh-22 was designed in the Soviet era for use against aircraft carriers and is notoriously inaccurate. More than 200 have been fired at Ukraine.

The Baltic Chihuahuas were Nazi client states and enthusiastic collaborators with the SS, and now they’re NATO client states and enthusiastic collaborators of WEF. The one thing they ain’t are sovereign nations and that’s the source of their suffering.

The Tsars and the Communists wanted to Russify the Baltic States. In particular, Stalin resettled ethnic Russians and deported many Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians to Siberia. You can't blame them from wanting to avoid the fates of Wales, Scotland, and Ireland against England. Their support of the Nazis came after two years of brutal Stalinist rule, including thousands of executions, deportations, torture, and theft of private businesses. Like the Irish, many of whom supported the Spanish, French, and German enemies of England, the thought was the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

“The one thing they ain’t are sovereign nations and that’s the source of their suffering.”

They’re sovereign nations.

And be honest, if the U.S.A. were invaded and occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940, we would have been “enthusiastic collaborators with the SS” too. The Soviets were so awful that the Nazis looked good to many peoples in Eastern Europe.

“”$40,000 Paris shopping spree, yeah, so serious .””

That never happened, it was merely another one of those weak, planted, out-of-nowhere, fake stories.

Read some history.

World War I is a good place to start.

Play stupid games and end up with a lot of maimed and dead American young men.

Try reading about the end of WWI in Poland, Ukraine and Belarus and the Treaty of Riga. The consequences of what wasn't accepted then when offered by Lenin, splitting Belarus and Ukraine from Russia continues to recur in the region. Remember WWII was avoidable if Germany had been confronted earlier by the West, either with annexation of the Sudentenland, the division of Czechoslovakia, or with a Western attack on Germany in September 1939. Allow an aggressor to continue to attack its neighbors and WWIII will become inevitable.
