Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is offering a sweetheart plea deal to a suspect charged in the brutal anti-Semitic beating of a Jewish man in Midtown, prosecutors confirmed.
Waseem Awawdeh — who defiantly said “I would do it again” after his arrest in the cowardly assault on Joseph Borgen near a pro-Israel rally — has received a six-month plea deal offer from the controversial prosecutor.
That would be a slap on the wrist compared to the up to seven years he would face if convicted of the charges, including attempted assault as a hate crime, at trial.
Awawdeh, 24, was part of a gang of brutes busted in the May 20, 2021 attack on Borgen, who was wearing a yarmulke as he walked to a pro-Israel rally near Broadway and West 49th Street.
Borgen, an Upper East Side accountant, said his attackers called him a “dirty Jew” and yelled “F–k Israel, Hamas is going to kill all of you” as they pummeled him.

Every Jew in New York should be carrying. But they know they’d be charged with murder if they defended themselves.
The JDL needs to pay a midnight visit to the evil Bragg.
Every Jew in New York should know better than to vote for a Rat — but that’s what they do — save a few
And, no offense intended but stop voting 70% Dem year after year. Dennis Prager (practicing Jew): “Jews imagine they are still voting for Franklin D. Roosevelt every year when they vote.”
Dems are soft on crime.
Good people are hard on Dems.
I'm very willing to assume that there was no incitement on the victim's part. And being a gang member, and having said "I'd do it again", I'd be surprised if the accused wasn't "well known to the police". So all that remains is the extent of the injuries.
To define hate you must first include thought
There can never be thought crimes.
Correction: every sane, law abiding, citizen in New York should be carrying. And it’s easy to assume that most Jews in New York can be considered to be sane and law abiding.
Why Jews continue to vote for Democrats in the numbers that they do is an enigma to me.
Another Soros funded DA.
When are George Soros and his son going to be tried as international war criminals. They have been responsible for more misery and death than anyone still walking the planet.
But if whites are the victim, then it's never a "hate crime.
As for Jews, blacks, Muslims, Asians, gays, trannies, etc. -- there's a complex, points-based pecking order, which varies from year to year, and jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
After the Summer of Floyd, blacks moved up a few notches as a protected class. Trannies also score pretty high; they clearly trump real women.
I don’t care if a white guy assaults a black guy because he was black...or because the white guy was having a bad day. If the victim has a bloody nose the white guy gets a fine and some probation. If the victim winds up in the ICU the white guy does 5 years...or more. If the victim winds up crippled the white guy does 20 years. If the victim dies the white guy gets the hot squat.
Six months for what has been described as a “brutal assault”.
Compare that to the guy in the funny hat on J6 who was sentenced to 42 months in prison for TRESPASSING (while carrying the American flag).
Equal justice. Pfffffft!
“deny...equal protection of the law”

Great comment. That’s also true of blue-dog Democrats, of which I know quite a few. They vote Democrat, they tell me, because the Democrat party is the party of the working man.
Well, the last Democrat leader who was for the working man was Jimmy Carter. The D’s are now for perverts, criminals, and folks who simply don’t want to work at all.
It frustrates me that I cannot get that point across to my blue-dog friends.
Either way they will have earned their (collective) fate.
This is surprising? Alvin Bragg is a blatant advocate of Kill Whitey (and Jews doubly so).
“Why Jews continue to vote for Democrats in the numbers that they do is an enigma to me.”
Republicans are considered “dangerous” to them. That’s what they are told anyway.
Besides, what do you want? Trouble? It’s best just to go along
