For nearly two years, former President Donald Trump criticized Republican Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia for not helping him overturn now-President Joe Biden's victory in the Southern swing state in the 2020 election.
In advance of the 2022 midterms, Trump even recruited former Sen. David Perdue to run against Kemp in the GOP gubernatorial primary, but the governor defeated him landslide — a reflection of his strength among Peach State conservatives.
And in the November general election, Kemp defeated his Democratic archrival Stacey Abrams by nearly eight points, winning by nearly 300,000 votes — a marked improvement over his roughly 55,000-vote victory against the former state lawmaker in the 2018 gubernatorial contest.
During last year's campaign, Kemp — who was once an ally of Trump — largely avoided talking about the former president.

He's a Larry Hogan type of Republican. He can win in Georgian because it's a blue state. But he has limited appeal nationally.
Only insufficiently good to overcome the massive cheating, coercion and corruption.
He most certainly did make the case - with the accomplishments of his first term. He shouldn’t have even needed to campaign.
He is an idiot; but, he’s our idiot and still better than the alternative.
Kemp didn’t lift a finger in 2020 to stop voter fraud in Atlanta or cheat-by-mail.
Kemp is DOA as far as I am concerned.
Then explain, Brian, how President Trump managed to up his vote total 10+ million more votes than 2016.
He didn’t convince enough cheaters not to cheat.
Governor Bubba still blathering
“He accomplished more in 4 years than any other President in history”.
I think Reagan accomplished more...In my opinion.
Making the case? What case did Trump have to make? Hillary made the case for the first term and they screwed up on the amound of cheating needed. Biden made the case for the second and the cheating worked.
Yup, to your second sentence. No matter how many votes President Trump would have gotten, the Rats would have “found” more.
If he thinks that that sort of rhetoric is going to get him the nomination, he’s got another think coming.
No, he’s not. He’s not on our side, he never was. His corrupt machine was content to fix it for “his people” for statewide races and give the Demonrats both Senate seats for balance. No way those votes were remotely honest or correct.
The Republican establishment is more of a problem for us than the left is it surprising how many people here do not understand that
I can’t think of a better president in recent memory. Maybe someone could do better but statistically that seems unlikely
At this rate, Biden is not going to need to cheat to win in 2024. Arizona and Georgia are going to be blue. So Biden is almost at 270 before he has to do anything.
“ Soaring economy.
Soaring employment, even among minorities.”
During the first three years, yes. But 2000 - the year Trump ran for re-election - was the year of Covid lockdowns, stock market Covid crash, and BLM riots nationwide. It was a terrible year for me and my family. I’m not blaming Trump, but it was a difficult environment for a reelection campaign
Kemp and his supporters/voters will reap the whirlwind they planted. Cheating seems to be inherent in some states.
