The US is being bankrupted on purpose by enemies of the country both external and internal.

“ We can continue spending 2 trillion dollars in imaginary money every year forever.”

When that ends, it will end suddenly. Right at the time an alliance of foreign enemies and competitors end it for us. And it will be brutal. And even America in its perverted, grotesque and monstrous form that we have now, will no longer exist…it may take a day…or a week…but we’ll all know immediately that it’s over.

“Debt is not a problem?”

Unreal!

However, the communists, who now rule us, know that they do have 50% of the electorate believing every absurd communist proclamation...

Throw in the 55-to-60 million MIVs infesting the country and they have a solid majority of 2024 voters supporting them...
as things stand now, the communists could receive 115-to-125 million votes in 2024...

Proof positive that no liberal should ever be in a government position.

But, while Biden and Yellen and crew are in control, I’d like to get a billion dollars into my bank account, and added to the government debt. I’m not greedy, so, just a biliion will do. Heck, send all Americans a million dollars each, and put it on the government debt. Nothing will happen and people will be happy.

“The US is being bankrupted on purpose by enemies of the country both external and internal.”

I think the proper term is weakened rather than bankrupted. If the USA defaults the entire world economy collapses. No fun for decades. Such messiness isn’t worth the trouble and would be very dangerous to the perpetrators themselves. For example, you don’t use a nuke when conventional means will win a war. Nukes are too messy and radioactivity lasts a long time.

My take is that the ultimate goal is a World Govt in control of the populace, bankruptcy is not desirable as total collapse causes complete and desperate rebellion, not docile citizens.

Kakistocracy
A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

I do not agree that a default on public debt by the United States will be the great issue you think it will be. I expect it will cause short term chaos but I expect that much like previous chaotic periods, a new ‘norm’ will be created where US currency is not paramount in internarional transactions.

So if the government has a huge deficit, where is the surplus of money that this created? Answer: Its mostly in the bank accounts, homes, cars, and other material goods owned by the American public who were ultimately paid in US dollars issued by banks.

The Treasury also has a very safe program to allow people who have excess cash to park it with them and get paid interest. Of course, they could at any time simply convert the outstanding bonds to cash and expire the debt but there’s no need to do this since they set the interest rate and can always get money from the Federal Reserve to pay it. The interest is actually just a Universal Basic Income program for people who want to let their money work for them so they can enjoy life and not spend all their time in an office.
The government doesn’t actually need your taxes to do any of this but by requiring you to pay taxes in dollars they can maintain their monopoly control of the currency.

They thought it (debt) was dangerous when Trump was in office.

It was then and it is now. Our national defense is dependent on our economic health. As interest payments eat up more of our national budget that is less for defense.

Jared Bernstein is more like a guru than an economist. He has a BA in music and a masters and PhD in social work. His writings in economics have been policy-oriented, all supporting the Democratic agenda.

Sure. We can continue spending 2 trillion dollars in imaginary money every year forever.

History: "So, America, how did you go bankrupt?"

America: "Slowly, then suddenly."
