Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday appointed a special counsel to investigate the classified documents from Joe Biden's time as vice president.
He said on Nov. 14, he appointed U.S. Attorney John Lausch, a nominee of former President Donald Trump, to conduct the initial investigation into classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. and inform Garland whether a special counsel needed to be appointed. Lausch is leaving for the private sector in 2023 and is unable to take on the role of special counsel.
Biden's former office at the Penn Biden Center was "not authorized for storage of classified documents," Garland said. "The prosecutor had also been advised that those documents had been secured in an archives facility."
Biden's personal attorneys told Lausch on Dec. 20 that additional classified documents were discovered in the garage of the president's home in Wilmington, Delaware, Garland said.
Lausch told Garland on Jan. 6 that a special counsel needed to be appointed to probe the matter further, the attorney general said.
Robert Hur, Trump's pick to be the U.S. attorney for Maryland, was appointed as special counsel to continue the investigation.
"I will ensure that Mr. Hur receives all the resources he needs to conduct his work," Garland said.

One hypothesis is that the stink that you are smelling is the deep state wrapping up these documents into never ending investigations that is meant to keep them from the GOP House investigations committees. Corruption coverup 2.0.

Now you know, why- right now... Biden is not sweating bullets and can say something so utterly stupid like the documents were secure because they were behind his locked garage door. This is the same cool Joe, unfrazzled, just like he was unfrazzled when hiding in his basement during the election, not having to campaign because he knew the deep state would be stealing the election and everything was good to go.

EXACTLY! Saps for falling for this brilliant game plan to oust the veggie and trump. It’s all about putting a stop to the congressional investigation of the FBI and DOJ, LGB and the vegetable’s son, etc. When you have an ongoing investigation by the DOJ it hinders those congressional hearings. Like Senator Kennedy said, I have been in DC long enough to tell you this is not a coincidence it’s all politics.
Oh I’m sure he’ll get right to the bottom of it.
All special counsels do is fill office buildings with hundreds of "investigators" so it looks like they are doing a thorough job. Years later, after everybody has forgotten about it, the special counsel comes out with an 800 page report that nobody reads.

He’s doing this because if he doesn’t, he can’t prosecute Trump. That’s the ONLY real reason. They’re willing to sacrifice Biden in order to prosecute Trump. Besides, Biden, Kamala —— just as easy to control one as the other; neither one has two brain cells to rub together.

Sure.......now, when anyone is asked ANYTHING about it, they can all fall back on “cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.”
I will never forget when part of the Lewinsky story developed, and Billy Boy Clinton stood up to say everything would be thoroughly investigated. Billy Boy is actually on tape stating “deny, deny, deny.”
