The battle for Soledar in eastern Ukraine continues to intensify, with Ukraine denying claims by the private Russian Vagner military group that it had taken control of the salt-mining town.
Ukraine's Defense Ministry cited "colossal losses" by Russian forces trying to capture the town in a sustained offensive that the ministry described on January 11 as "maniacal" as the community's fate hangs in the balance.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, said his forces had taken control of Soledar, which lies near another heavily contested city, Bakhmut, after Russian troops regrouped during an Orthodox Christmas pause last weekend.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was also quick to tamp down Prigozhin's claims, saying there was a "positive dynamic in advances," but quickly adding that officials shouldn't "rush" to declare victory.

Soledar has fallen, please focus on the pending collapse of Bakhmut.
No matter how the west tries to spin it or tries to sow division between Russian forces, Soledad is a massive defeat for the Ukraine.
1. The best Ukrainian units were thrown in its defense to include lots of foriegn mercenaries. These units have taken heavy losses and will take months to rebuild.
2. Ukrainian reserve units that were to launch their own offensives were chewed up and spit out there. Most of NATO wonder weapon gifts were turned to scrap there. There are no more reserves except those guarding Kiev.
3. Bakhmut is now very vulnerable. The last remaining Ukrainian defensive belt in the Donbas is threatened. And these were built up over the last eight years. If the Ukrainians can’t hold here, they probably can’t hold the next line either.
4. The Russian winter offensive has begun. The ground is frozen. Russian troops have built up combat strength and power over the last three months after their strategic, and painful, retreats.
5. The Ukrainian military is stretched thin, full of conscripts who don’t want to be there and poorly supplied. The government of Kiev gets more tyrannical by the day trying to retain power.
6. It’s gonna end soon or with direct NATO involvement.

A nice cope but doesn’t change the tactical and strategic reality on the ground.
“No matter how the west tries to spin it or tries to sow division between Russian forces, Soledar is a massive defeat for the Ukraine.”
Yep, this was the big one. Hopefully they’ll find an adult or two in the White House to put an end to this war.
Their anger has gone to incandescent level.
Im pretty sure Radio Free Europe is just like NPR in the USA, a globalist marketing tool they had a big role in flooding Europe with Islamic "refugees", in other words "the destruction of western civilization" .
they have a stake in keeping this Biden Family's war alive
They’re doing so well that General Armageddon just got fired.
Nonsense. It's a depleted salt mine with no strategic value, a hole in the ground.
Soledar has fallen with Bakhmut next, and this all could have been avoided.
In that case, que The Doors’ “This Is The End”.🎼 We are so screwed
Give it up. Russia was always going to win. And after they wipe out all your buddies, they’re gonna lay bare all the crooked dem/hunter/burisma deal.
Why do you think Biden shovels scores of billions and hundreds of billions at your boy Z?
Russia is one of the last few countries in 2023 willing to fight a war of attrition to the end.
With the capture of these railheads, the Ukronazi supply lines in the area will crumble.
Ukraine is done. It’s only a matter of time.
Yes, the mighty Russian Army, with its spearhead outsourced to criminals and mercenaries, may have captured a tiny village after just a few months of fighting. If the advance continues at this pace, Kiev will fall in 2525 (apologies to Zeger and Evans).
“Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was also quick to tamp down Prigozhin’s claims, saying there was a “positive dynamic in advances,” but quickly adding that officials shouldn’t “rush” to declare victory.”
Aww, the Kremlin is a bit more circumspect than FR Russian cheerleaders.
Yep. The 1st time ever dudes attacking in human waves sustained fewer casualties than defenders. Boris the “independent blogger” told me that so it must be true.
RuSSia lying!? Whoda thunk it!?
