A Texas grand jury will decide whether or not criminal charges should be brought against a customer who shot and killed a robber in a Houston taqueria last week.
Eric Eugene Washington, 30, died after being shot nine times - with one bullet hitting him execution-style in the head - by a vigilante customer who was said to be 'protecting everyone' in the Texas restaurant.
It can now be revealed that Washington already had a lengthy rap sheet. He was already on bond for domestic violence for attacking his girlfriend during the ambush - and he previously spent six years in jail for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The customer at Ranchito 4 Taqueria has been hailed a hero after turning his weapon upon a would-be robber - who strolled into the local joint, pointed a fake gun at customers and demanded they fork over cash.
The 46-year-old customer, believed to be Hispanic and left the scene in a dusty pickup truck, has not yet been identified because he is not under arrest. Authorities say he is cooperating with detectives - and will now decide if he'll face charges.
The customer, who is seen in the clip shooting as the robber seems to head towards the door, was 'traumatized' and 'feared for his life' during the ordeal, his lawyer said.
He added that killing someone 'will burden him for the rest of his life' - but he did pull the trigger to 'protect everyone in the restaurant.'
There were around 10 customers eating in the restaurant when Washington entered, wearing a black ski mask and gloves, and started to ambush and rob the diners.

I think MI is a bit different from TX.
Evidently there is a longer video on Twitter
#METOO, but someone is going to have to post one I can see.
Even THIS video seems too short
They'll seem really CHEAP if you ever really need them!
You could have stopped at the first part of your sentence, and...

“Death can also be the sum of all your choices.” Hoosier-Daddy
> Define needed. <
And that’s the problem. There’s no simple definition. So a jury will decide.
Expecting the perp's family to hold press conferences with photos of their little darling from kindergarten and tearfully explaining that he was a "good boy" who "didn't deserve" his fate, and that the customer should have just minded his own business as the perp cleaned out all of the customers of their money and possessions.
Agreed. Even if they focus on that last shot, which was questionable, what evidence is there that he wasn't already dead? If he was already dead from the previous justifiable shots, then the last shot was inconsequential.
How can one be charged with murder or manslaughter for shooting someone who is already dead?
If he was already dead from the previous justifiable shots, how can a murder or manslaughter charge be brought against him for that final shot? Can't kill someone who is already dead. Tough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Thank you!
He did right until he did wrong. No need to double tap.
Here in Washington State that is written in the law - the police have a higher standard on limitations of force than regular people.
But it is all in terms of “reasonable force”. Was the first shot “reasonable” in the self-defense of yourself or others. Was the 2nd and 3rd shot reasonable? All the way to the last shot.

It is a 35 second video. It greatly helps to turn on the sound (by clicking once anywhere on the video.) At 14 seconds he has walked up to the Perp laying unmoving on the floor, switches from a two hand to a one hand grip, leans down with the gun less than 2 feet from the body, and fires shot number 8. Hero then leans down to pic up Perp's gun, then fires shot number 9 at 18 seconds, presumably into Perp's head, but definitely into Perp's body.
A lot of us own old trucks, but in his case, we are trying to look at a total package to get some feel for what kind of life the shooter lives and has lived.
Did you see post 85, someone speculated it isn’t a beater at all.
I apologize for being so snippy and grumpy in my replies to you.
Yoda would say about me, “Great in this one are the feelings of helplessness and lack of control.”
fight or flight response kicks in.
Huge surge of adrenalin, noradrenalin and cortisol from stimulation of adrenal gland and pituitary.
Heart rate increases, peripheral blood is shunted to the autonomic brain... the “lizard” part... minimal cognitive (you aren’t remembering phone numbers, doing math, reviewing lists), heart, lungs are maxed out for motion and survival.
Pupils dilate but you don’t “see”, only focus (sometimes fatally) on the main threat.. your brain isn’t “processing” peripheral stimulus but is only using mainly the motor and not the cognitive parts of the brain... other than.. what am I scared about, how do I make it stop... not hmmm let me review if he’s fired 4-6 rounds, is he turning allowing me to ambush him and not confront him head on..... do I fire 5-7-9... rounds or is this clown going to pull a zombie and come back and kill me and my family.... maybe survive and sue me or get his little gang or family to kill me and my family.
Time is compressed and everyone thinks they can “figure it out”.....once someone punches you in the balls, hold a gun to your face and tells you you’re going to die....... you have NO IDEA how many rounds anyone needs. The surge of adrenalin is putting your body and brain into survivor mode and that’s why anyone involved in a shooting should shut their mouths until a lawyer is involved and the adrenalin has worn off.
I’ve told my wife if anyone breaks into our house when I’m not there to pull the trigger till she hears clicking and haul ass and shut up until you see a lawyer.
This guy did the world a favor and allowed the perp to die doing what he loved.
8 seconds and 3 to 5 feet distance for the entire shooting to occur.
I’m liking the part of getting the weapon away and giving back the money. Anybody that prosecutes him has an agenda. Did you notice how long it took the cops to “serve and protect” all the patrons? F’ing joke.
it was over in 8 seconds.... reassess after each shot... uh, sure.
Have you seen the video in post 153? That’s the full video.
