A federal agency is considering a ban on gas stoves, a source of indoor pollution linked to childhood asthma.

In an interview with Bloomberg, a US Consumer Product Safety commissioner said gas stove usage is a “hidden hazard.”

“Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned,” agency commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told Bloomberg. The report said the agency plans “to take action” to address the indoor pollution caused by stoves.

I know this started coming out a couple days ago, but thought the CNN spin in the last paragraph worth noting:

However, Biden’s landmark Inflation Reduction Act includes a rebate of up to $840 for an electric stove or other electric appliances, and up to an $500 to help cover the costs of converting to electric from gas.

You aren't even kidding. Quote:

...The letter – Sen. Corey Booker and Sen. Elizabeth Warren among its signers – argued that Black, Latino and low-income households are more likely to be affected by these adverse reactions, because they are either more likely to live near a waste incinerator or coal ash site or are in a home with poor ventilation.

All of a sudden there’s all this news about gas stoves in the news.

Where did this come from all of a sudden?

So now they want to ban gas stoves?

Can I make a suggestion? If gas stoves really aggravate asthma conditions, How about if people prone to asthma, switch out their stoves , but leave the rest of us alone?

Rather than banning something, tell people who have the problem that is being described to get a new stove. Leave everyone else alone who has no problem with the gas stoves.

For the first time in my life, I have managed to work my way up to gas appliances, including a stove.

Within a month of moving to where I am now, I replaced the electric range (sux for serious cooking) and installed a 100lb. propane tank and bought a new gas range. MUCH better. I have no kids living here and no one has asthma. So the Gubmint can kiss my arse.

Because asthma is a BS excuse they float out there in order to get EVERYONE off of so called 'fossil fuels'. All electric all the time. It's about control.

"How about if people prone to asthma, switch out their stoves , but leave the rest of us alone?"

Yeah; open the door to fraud claims of "Asthma", to cash in on the rebates/handouts. How about "disparate impact" claims and some Class Action Lawsuits against gas appliance manufacturers, gas suppliers, etc. which will follow closely behind any such "Finding" from the stooge Trumpka-led "Experts".........

I am guessing that these other environmental issues are more the cause and that this is just an excuse to get rid if gas appliances. One of my sons had childhood asthma and used an inhaler. We lived in the city. One time we spent some time high in the Appalachians and he remarked what a difference the clean fresh air made.

This crap is the result of the World Economic Forum pushing their asinine "green energy" agenda. The real agenda is depopulation. Removing natural gas appliances including forced air gas heating, gas water heaters, gas kitchen stoves and ovens and gas laundry dryers and replacing with electric is the first step. It's easy to control access to an electric/electronic device. There isn't sufficient electrical generating capacity to support a shift to 100% electric. That doesn't matter. Why? They intend to reduce the population to a level that the existing electrical infrastructure will support.

Some day, that pre-dawn pounding on the door, people shouting “EPA, EPA!”, family arrested, cuffed, and standing on the sidewalk in front of the house as the neighbors leave for work. Children crying and carted off to “Family Services”.

All because there is a gas stove in the house.

"The real agenda is depopulation."

If that's the case, let the WEF, WHO, and the like, lead by example (the depopulation aspect).

Why be practical? Why support liberty?

The only way to manage this bunch of dictators is to get rid of them. The sooner the better.

The truth is fewer people buy gas stoves today than in the past….new subdivisions don’t usually have gas service. Yet asthma rates are going up. More than likely our enclosed homes (open a window once in a while) plus all of the disinfectants, (read the label about not inhaling) air fresheners, fragranced cleaning products, and of course the potpourri and candles everybody seems to have.

“hidden hazard” It is so damn well hidden it has never been a problem until someone makes it one.

We will just sit here and take it though. We will watch them come into our houses and take our stoves, hot water heaters and furnaces away and cut our gas lines.
