New House Committee Aims Specifically At Foreign Influence Of Joe Biden

House Republicans are set to probe President Joe Biden’s connections to foreign business partners under their new majority, James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, said Sunday.

The committee, renamed from the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, will hold hearings on “Biden family influence peddling,” and will specifically look into the president’s role in Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, Republican Kentucky Rep. Comer said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“I think any American who’s kept up with the political process over the past two administrations would agree. We need to know what is allowable and what isn’t allowable with respect to foreign adversarial intervention among family members of presidents of the United States,” Comer added.

Joe Biden has repeatedly appeared on the sidelines of his son’s business meetings, including with Chinese, Ukrainian and Kazakhstani businessmen. He has repeatedly denying knowing anything about the business dealings, saying that he has “never spoken” to his son “about his overseas business dealings.”

Hunter Biden also visited Mexico repeatedly while his father was vice president, and communications from the laptop he abandoned in Delaware in 2019 mention Joe Biden. The president is in Mexico until Tuesday, making the trip for the first time during his presidency.

Comer will use the communications in the laptop as evidence, he said on “Meet the Press.”

“There are emails and text messages that show Hunter Biden complaining about having to spend so much money keeping his dad up. I mean, that’s a concern because Hunter Biden’s only source of income [was] from our adversaries in China and Russia for influence peddling,” Comer said.

“So this is something that we should look into. This isn’t political. We want to know, was the president truthful when he said he ‘didn’t have any knowledge or involvement of his family’s shady business dealings?’ Once we’ve determined that, we’ll move on,” he added.

A source close to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told the New York Post that House Republicans will look into “banks and other financial institutions, business partners that were cheated or defrauded by the Bidens” and “will get answers whether they like it or not.”

This would allow for the Impeachment of both Biden and Harris, and then the question becomes: “So what to do about a conviction by the Senate?”

Should that be “influence ON” rather than “influence of”?

Cool story. Did they say what they intend to do when banks, FBI, Secret Service, CIA, Biden’s etc flip them the finger on subpoenas for documents and witnesses?

Gonna refer them to Merrick Garland for contempt prosecution or FBI raids?

Meaningless Kibuki theater.

I may be naïve but I imagine this $$$ trail of Hunter and Jim will be very easy to find, and track some back to Creeper Joe. I seem to remember old Jim B. had a nice hunk of property by Epstein’s island. Gee...how odd.

Toothless. DOJ is in enemy hands, and the House lost the power of the purse until 2024.
But there will be some great speechifying.

The “Holman Rule” can still be applied. Two congressmen one from Kentucky and another from Texsa (I think!) are looking to apply it.

Holman Rule
The Holman rule is a rule in the United States House of Representatives that allows amendments to appropriations legislation that would reduce the salary of or fire specific federal employees or cut a specific program. The rule was first enacted in 1876 and rescinded in 1983 and was reinstated in January 2017 on a temporary basis.

Following the midterm 2022 elections, the House Republican majority has supported rules adoptions for the upcoming 118th Congress to reinstate the Holman rule

Also note the Holman Rule does NOT require the participation of the Senate!

I don’t expect any high level prosecutions but I do expect exposure. Yeah, I know. I’m an optimist.

That would be awesome. But I have my doubts they will use it. At the height of FBI lies, sedition, frame ups and treason, the Republicans gifted them with a new multibillion dollar HQ and a reauthorization of the PATRIOT act domestic spying roles.

I would love for you to be right. But I just watched the House and every organ of the GOP fight tooth and nail to stop conservatives. So I do not believe McCarthy. I still think it’ll be a lot of scornful remarks and speeches like Gowdy used to do.

We’ll see!

It requires a simple majority in the House, again the Senate is NOT involved. The two questions are:

1. Do they have the balls to do try it,
2. If they try it, can they show enough Rat-like solidarity to get it passed.

Say what you will about the Rats, they stick together. The GOP could learn from them!

And if executed it’s an actual effective means of fighting back. Unlike impeachment which is a fart in the wind to feel good!

One the attributes of the framers’ Electoral College was to make foreign influence of the executive office impossible.

But the “two party system” overlay of Article II Section 1 corrupted their noble design.
