I hold the unpopular view that the only forum able to appoint Electors and to dispute the authority of Michigan’s Biden Electors prior to December 14, 2000 was the Michigan Legislature, and that by failing to do so they affirmed the Electors as validly appointed.

That having been said, I can’t imagine that pretending to be a validly appointed Elector is a crime, any more than dressing up as James Madison and distributing copies of the Constitution is.

They are trying to copy the German criminal code, under which certain types of political opinions are criminal.
