Houston, Texas – An armed robber was shot to death by a patron at a taqueria on S. Gessner just before midnight on Thursday night.
Surveillance video shows a male in a black ski mask walking around the taqueria and robbing customers at gunpoint.
A bald man seated near the robber jumped into action and shot the suspect dead.
According to Houston Police, the Good Samaritan then collected the money from the suspect and gave it back to the robbery victims.
Houston Police want to speak to the man who shot the suspect, but he has not been charged with any crimes.
KHOU 11 reported:
A customer at Ranchito Taqueria shot and killed a man who robbed the restaurant in southwest Houston late Thursday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
It happened just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant on S. Gessner near Bellaire Boulevard.
Houston police said the armed man in a mask came inside the restaurant, demanding money and wallets from customers. However, as he was leaving, one of those customers shot the suspect.
Houston police also released surveillance photos of the customer who shot the robber in the video. Investigators said he is wanted for questioning for his role in the shooting. He has not been identified and is not charged at this time.
A photo of his 1970s or 80s model pickup truck with no bed was also released
The shooter collected the stolen money from the robber and returned it to the other patrons, police said. Then the rest of the people in the restaurant left the scene before the police arrived.
Update: According to police, the suspect was armed with a BB gun.
Happy ending! I LOVE Happy Endings!
“During the robbery, this man shot and killed the suspect… collected the money, gave it back to the robbery victims, and left”
Actual Social Justice.
Me too!
And the customer didn’t get arrested?
Like a scene from Breaking Bad.
Happy story to end the day.
The good Samaritan is sought by police and I doubt he will come forward to identify himself.
The good Samaritan shot the robber 9 times, the final shot a coup de grace to the head.
Why would anyone want to be interviewed by police after doing that, or identify himself to the public?
“Not I,” said the little red hen.
“Houston Police want to speak to the man who shot the suspect, but he has not been charged with any crimes.”
So Christina, the Houston Police have not charged a guy they have not identified yet with any crimes? Thanks millenial girl.
“And the customer didn’t get arrested?”
He decided it would be best to leave immediately.
I’d leave and not return.
According to the article no one stuck around in terms of witnesses. Let me guess ,they were new to the country via El Paso last week.
He just left the robber there? That calls for a littering charge!
Me too.
The good Samaritan shot as if he was a military combat veteran, especially that last shot directly to the brain. He was taking no chances that the robber would somehow survive.
I would have to have stopped at 6 shots or reload. But, 6 x .357 at close range would probably be lethal enough
“Happy ending! I LOVE Happy Endings!”
Deserves repeating!
With a .357 mag JHP, a double tap would have been enough.
BUt 9 rounds? Sheesh. Must have been a .380 auto . The robber went down on the first shot , heavy.
If we don’t start enforcing laws, prosecuting criminals and incarcerating them, this will be commonplace.
