Ukraine’s deputy military intelligence chief, Vadym Skibitsky, claimed Friday that Moscow was considering calling up an additional 500,000 troops ahead of planned offensive operations in the spring and summer, The Guardian reported. If confirmed, the mobilization would risk a repeat of the unrest caused by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempt to press 300,000 Russians into service this fall.

I doubt this. I would guess this was made up by propagandists to get Russians all worked up an agitated.
It is what propaganda does.

When see see Putin walking around in the Ukraine offices in Kiev
so you're saying Russia will conquer Ukraine?
uh, wouldn't Russia have to stop retreating first, for that to ever happen?
LOL

Russia can call up how many they want, they have to actually employ them effectively to win. Until they increased the support to match the call up in training, transportation, replacing
1.5 million missing winter uniforms (to normal people in the real world, that is called a "clue" and a "bad sign"), the conscripts are just replacement cannon fodder.

exactly
“and it’s one, two, three what are we fightin’ for...”
I think everyone who wants to go fight in Ukraine is already doing it...
I wonder if this is even accurate?

Ruzzia isn’t retreating now. In time, even Bacmute (Sp?) fortress will fall. In Time Russia will win. I am saying I am getting rather sick of all the pro-Ukraine Propaganda that is being laid on people on this site. IF Video emerges of Putin in Mr. Zelenskys office, with T-90s with Russian Flags in the background. the Pro-Ukraine people will write. “Putin Attempting to find Zelensky to surrender to him”

I called it wrong last February—I did not see Putin invading Ukraine. My prediction was right—it was a bone headed move that cost lots of lives—The Russians had too few men to do the job.

According to publicized intelligence here and there, the Russian government gathered 300,000 and continued to recruit and abduct more. They hope to have them trained enough to participate in horde attacks by March (four months, more or less).
I’m guessing that the casualty numbers may be extremely high this spring, unless the Russian people stop their government’s war as you suggest. The killing efficiency of NATO weapons and training is awesome and terrible.

Recently saw a headline saying that Russia will be spending about a third of its budget on its military forces.

NATO has more than 20,000 military aircraft. The U.S. alone has more than 13,000. Most of those weapons are far more advanced than Russian aircraft, of which there are very few capable of operation. And that's only a narrow mention of superiority in aircraft without consideration of anti-aircraft defenses.
Most Chinese weapons are old Russian designs modified to fit platforms, ranges and other purposes for China.

Yes, Russia is taking it slow and will win in the long run. I think this is the new plan—Americans have short memories and will soon grow weary of Zelensky and his demands for money and weapons. He doesn’t wear well in he long term. I predict an end of the war in 2026—Russia will get bigger, Ukraine smaller. Wait for China to enter the fray.

Russia is taking it slow and will win in the long run.you really think that losing territory, soldiers, weapons, prestige, markets is "taking it slow"?
It's called losing
