“Beautiful - representatives truly representing the best interest of the US holding firm!”
I agree. It’s only a few days delay so far and the group of 20 is getting concessions. No reason to cave yet.

And he cheated on his wife by having an affair with Congresswoman Renee Elmers, a Trump supporter, As opposed to cheating on his wife by having an affair with a porn star/prostitute.

Agree, the House should govern as lightly as Constitutionally possible, and should mind the Budget as Constitutionally as possible.

So much for the list of 'concessions' from McCarthy that were reported this morning.
McCarthy hasn't picked up a single vote from yesterday.

I would be in favor of this:
McCarthy withdraws from consideration.
McCarthy personally nominates Jim Jordan.
Jim Jordan accepts the nomination.
Jim Jordan says his door will always be open, but he is not going to make promises to anyone or try to buy votes.
It would be interesting to see what the ‘patriot’ holdouts would do then. My guess is they would turn on Jordan like a pack of rabid dogs once they realized their time in the spotlight was over and they wouldn’t be getting perks from the Speaker.

Hey, these Reps have the power to do exactly what they are doing. None of it is illegitimate. If McCarthy wants their votes, he’d better get on his damn knees. Otherwise, the GOP better get its act together and come up with a compromise candidate.

The newly elected members have not been sworn in yet so they actually are unable to vote until then. Also, no one gets paid until there is a speaker so this will end at some point. Great! Now Congress can't take our money away from us and give it away. Hope they keep this up for two more years.
To: Navy Patriot
If McCarthy was actually a leader, he would do one of two things:
1. He’d have been Speaker by now.
2. He’d have withdrawn by now.

Took 133 ballots in 1855, they’ve got a long way to go.
All they have to do for the next 2 years is vote NO on everything the Dems want and then play games on their phone til adjournment.

When the press calls it chaos and Mitch McConnell and Mike Pence both support McCarthy, you *know* the 19 are doing the right thing. God Bless them!

It’s not theater, though.
It’s procedure.
