Jewish extremists have been blamed for the vandalism.
Standing next to the vandalised grave of the second Anglican bishop of Jerusalem, Samuel Gobat, he said there had been a recent increase in spitting at Christians and attacks on their holy sites.

Are we sure it’s not Moslems? You know, those beasts that get to “own” a crucial part of Jewish sites?
FTA: “ Security camera footage shows two young men carrying out the attack. They are wearing kippahs, or skullcaps, and knotted fringes known as tzitzit on their clothes, indicating they are religious Jews.”
There are some major asshole Hasidic cults in that quarter of Jerusalem. They hate everyone, include other Hassidic groups, Zionism, whatever. I don’t doubt for a second it wasn’t them.
Our personal versions of the Westboro Baptist Church.
In follow up, these cults are largely centered around a singular cult leader, whose mantle is passed down paternally, usually.
They’ve been around forever, but the influx of fatherless children during the Shoa filled them to the brim with seriously psychologically damaged young men.
Made worse by a really stupid welfare state that supports them.
Not a lot of normal Torah study going on; just hate and personal fiefdom.
They are like Jewish mix of fatherless blacks in Chicago blended with Branch Davidians.
That’s too bad.
I guess everyone has them.
I’d forgotten about Westboro. I am not for homos, but I really resent their signature “God hates fags” signs. God doesn’t hate anyone like that.
WBC was a false flag that was funded by the usual leftist suspects.

I watched the video and I am not convinced they were Jews at all. The Arabs have been dressing up in Orthodox Jewish clothing for a long time to perpetrate attacks and this could very easily be such a case as a false flag frame-up. I’d also like to think that no one is stupid enough to do this right in front of a security camera. These guys wanted to be filmed.
I don’t know, one way or the other.
It’s on the SW side of Mount Zion and either in, or next to, the Armenian Quarter (depending on who you talk to), which is adjacent to both the Nazarene and Jewish Quarters.
There are just a lot of problems there.
The Armenians are historically very antisemitic, with most of the residents refusing to become Israeli citizens, opting to be Jordanian citizens with (effectively) Israeli “green cards” (to use the US term).
Right next to them though are enclaves of Eda Haredit (and similar ilk), who burn IDF soldiers in effigy, and, as noted up thread, are complete asshats to everyone.
But, yes, it could be a false flag.
Somewhat unrelated, but I’ve been to this cemetery to pay my respects to Oskar Shindler, who is buried there. He is but one of the many Righteous Among the Nations there. It’s a place of regular pilgrimage for Jewish people.
I’m very upset idiots (whoever they are) damaged the site.
