Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) stated Wednesday in response to former President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-FL) for House speaker that the former president’s renewed endorsement of McCarthy was “sad.”
Gaetz is one of 20 conservative holdouts who opposed McCarthy’s bid for speakership on Tuesday. McCarthy was 16 votes shy of the threshold. Twenty GOP lawmakers opposed McCarthy – about 10 percent of the Republican House majority.
“Sad!” Gaetz told Fox News. “This changes neither my view of McCarthy, nor Trump, nor my vote.”

Gaetz hasn’t succeeded in expelling McCarthy yet.
He’s right....You’ll NEVER be able to drain the swamp by letting the creatures hang around to continue to run the show! Not acknowledging this is either willful ignorance or incompetence or both! Either way- it’s unconscionable to continue this way, hence why I left the Republican Party back in Dec 2020 after being a registered R since 1988! Enough is enough......

I bet the attendance at Trump rallies starts falling off.
Matt has to understand reality of American voters. Right of center conservatives are losing more than winning.
The true firebrands like Gaetz and DeSantis are leaving Trump in the dust.
Even guests on the Steve Bannon show are openly ragging him now, which was once unthinkable.
But he and others are succeeding in unveiling the scumbags in the party backing McCarthy. It doesn't matter if they eventually fail, at least they tried, and didn't go along to get along. If McCarthy is eventually seated, I hope President Trump realizes that any bad move or weakness that McCarthy exhibits by siding with the Democrats, will be on him. If Trump is endorsing McCarthy because he truly believes in him it will probably come back to bite him in the ass, like most things have.
Having McConnell in the senate is bad enough. Making McCarthy Speaker is solidifying complete RINO control over the party.
Then again, the GOP is so screwed up maybe it doesn’t matter who they put in charge. Nothing is likely to change as we continue our national decline under the rule of the Uniparty.
In reality there is only one party. One fights like hell for what it wants and the other just applauds from the grandstands.
