I have read some of Murray’s writings. It seems compelling. The elites are willing to believe Africans can be better in some characteristics but never worse. Same with females. They can only be better. They shout down any studies to the contrary or say it is due to other factors.
How many have both parents, especially the FATHER, in the home?
For everything they guess, they always leave out the most obvious.
That works for white people, too. Put down the pipe.
Yeah, that line made me envision five-year-olds solving a few differential equations between milk and cookies and naptime.
So many are ready to extol the athletic and musical prowess of blacks but will never discuss any negative traits. Those are the sole property of white males.
The Bell Curve doesn’t lie.
Ben Carson is a great role model for any kid.
No, it’s not. It’s ignorant and indifferent parenting, which has it’s roots in culture and dysfunctional families and single parents.
Children learn math skills by playing games; cards, board games, dice games, etc.
That requires interested parents that are willing to invest the time playing games with their children, rather than park them in front of electronic babysitters.
It’s not racism, poverty or genetics. It’s time, lots and lots of time.
Kindergarten is raciss!!!
Amen! I probably wouldn't be a software engineer today without my father's influence to love math and science and reason.
Your sentence was partially correct. It’s not time that makes the difference, it’s having interested parents. Being invested in your child’s education is free and has no relationship to socioeconomic status. However, innate intelligence is actually a thing and it’s disingenuous to pretend it isn’t.
Most especially, do not send a bright black child to a school with a large black population. He will be relentlessly harassed for “acting white” if he displays his brightness.
Or crack.
I gave up on it in the '90s. Had a couple of contributions in it too over the years. Sky & Telescope also lost me with their praise of BLM.
I grew up poor, with a working mom.
From first grade, she had me walk from school to the nearby library, to wait there for her to get off work and get me. For three hours a day, I had nothing to do there except read and do homework. I read all the little children’s books there by the end of the first six months, the junior books by middle of second grade, and was reading adult level books by third.
Why did 19th century kids have such a superior reading level? No electronic entertainment.
Deriving a Taylor series for an analytic function and the like. Very few black children are up to snuff at this at that age. That is a cause for real concern.
More importantly, it is a cause for a gazillion dollar program (which will last forever!) to bring them up to snuff. Equal outcomes demands it!
I don't. I believe it's almost all cultural, going all the way back into Africa. Blacks have few historical achievements that have improved the lives of all people and that dates back into Africa way before American slavery.
Time is the investment interested parents make.
I’m not sure how much of the innate differences are genetic as opposed to the generational effects of parental and cultural failure. 60 years of Great Society damage is accumulating at accelerated rates.
Cultural values. Some cultures value family and education. Some cultures value basketball. Some cultures see doing hard time as a rite of passage to adulthood.
“Every black parent should send their child to either a Marva Collins school, a Montessori school, or a Catholic school.”
Right. So those schools can be dumbed down and be destroyed.
It’s terminal cancer no one want’s to come to terms with.
