Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) went off on some of her Republican colleagues on Tuesday as the contentious speakership vote is underway, telling reporters that some of her Freedom Caucus colleagues and “supposed friends” have been demanding positions for themselves and acting hypocritically.
“We have been negotiating talking, debating back and forth in our conference, trying to come to a really good rules package,” she said, explaining that she witnessed a very different story in the conference meeting, where she discovered that “several members, three, in fact,” went “last night and were demanding positions for themselves, demanding gavel positions, demanding subcommittees, demanding for people to be taken off committees and people to be put on committees.

The busget for ‘22-23 is done. And the funding for them was in a separate bill, signed by the President. So he’d have to get it passed in the House and Senate then send it to the WH. Not happening.

Have some sympathy, McCarthy was dealt a losing hand with the budget deal. Pelosi held all the cards and could steam roller him and there was nothing he could do about it.
The Senate Republicans could have held the line.
I really don't envy McCarthy as he has a real bunch of corrupt losers in his caucus he has to wrangle.
Would love to see a better outcome, but the guys pushing their power play are acting like they just won a 70 seat majority when they barely have a working majority. The House is our only check on Biden and we can't afford to lose it. I am probably delusional, but my gut tells me circumstances may dictate that McCarthy works out better than his past history may suggest.
