As I understand it the teams voted to suspend the game, it was not an NFL decision.

Definite change in attitude from "The Show must go on!"

One thing for sure is it definitely has nothing to do with the “safe and effective “ vaccine.

They gotta play the game. When? Delay the whole season a week?

Subtle heart defect can be present in young men (and women,I assume) who appear to be completely healthy. Reggie Lewis of the Boston Celtics was another. He had passed out during a "scrimmage" game and consulted a top Boston hospital...which told him he should never play again. He sought a second opinion at another top Boston hospital and was told that he could play.

Turns out the first hospital was right.

I could care less about the game. How’s the player?

There's something bigger here, not sure what just yet, but there was really no reason to suspend the game. That they did means something to the future of sports.

What was the reason to suspend the game again? The teams were overcome with the sads? They didn't need to pull players from the field to donate blood or do CPR, there were plenty of backup players, even if a coach or best friend got pulled to go to the hospital. Did they really need to stop everything? Thoughts and prayers?

I watched the hit. It was a good hit but nothing extra ordinary. Hundreds of harder hits happen every weekend. Was the player already having heart issues before the play?

From 2021, interesting...

Bills’ McDermott frustrated by team’s low vaccination rate

Still wondering what did the NFL know and when did it know it about the safety and efficacy of CoupFlu vaxxes.

I am not a fan of Skip Bayless, but he said at the end of the quote, “the outcome of the season...suddenly seems so irrelevant.” He said the game was irrelevant!

Will be interesting to know if he has had a heart problem prior, they get the best medical and are usually tested every which way before signed to a team. A nurse I know had covid but was not vaxxed and got covid toe. Turns out she had a 10 inch clot in her femoral artery. Had to put in a stent to bypass..

Stupid to suspend the game. He’s doing fine. People are resuscitated all the time. When I got a cardioversion (heart restarted with the paddles) the cardiologist told me fireman perform it successfully over 100 times per day in the US.

Football is a game.

This is not war in which men are regularly killed and others have to keep fighting after their comrades die.

Is America now so mentally sick pro sports events are more important than life and death?

Have we descended morally to the days of the Roman gladiators or Christians being thrown to the lions to please the spectators?

RECENTLY, athletes have been dying on the field all over the world. This is not normal and people know it.

The real intensity in the NFL seems to be focused on the fantasy leagues. So what happens with the stats from this game? Does the re-do start at the same clock time with the same field positions or like a brand new game and the first one doesn't count?

The fantasy debates about this must be burning; it would be like painting Avatar world green, or putting an announcement at the end of the new movie that Wakanda is not a real place.

Give BOTH teams a ribbon! Wouldn’t want to hurt the self esteem of the losers. Why do we even have play offs and Super Bowls? Seems so…. Socially unjust. Jus say’in.

Used to be true for motor sports. A dozen drivers have died during the Indianapolis 500 but the race continued. Dale Earnhardt crashed and died in the 2001 Daytona 500 but it was on the final lap so the show was already over.
