California’s SB 1327 went into effect on January 1, 2023, allowing private residents in the state to file suits against gun manufacturers who violate the state’s “assault weapons” ban or ban on gun sales to anyone under 21.
The Los Angeles Times reported that supporters of the new law view the lawsuit option as a way of “enlisting an army of grass-roots enforcers” to safeguard the state’s “assault weapons” ban and minimum age requirement.

ANYONE who hasn’t already left Calif-—PLEASE DO SO ASAP.
Well, since the manufacturers don’t sell to private individuals in CA, it appears to be a whole lot of bluster for nothing.
How will this benefit anyone in Cali if the gun manufacturer is not in Cali?
Every single transaction from a gun manufacturer requires federal permission to proceed, because they only sell through FFLs. So the feds are at least as culpable.
Gunmakers might consider refusing to sell to any CA entity, especially CA government entities.
It’s California Jake no cure
If the industry completely boycotts California the law will be repealed.
Two can play this game.
I see Honda advertising some of their generators as being “49-state” models, meaning they are not sold in California because of the stupidity of the law givers.
I hope other product manufacturers will follow suite and just tell the California market to get lost.
California law givers want everyone to believe their market is so big the rest of the country must suck up to their cockamamie ideas.
Just say no.
Cars are next.
California Jake no cure

Soon.
Every criminal shot by l.e.o. will now sue.

Time
How is this not a clear violation of the 2005 Protection of Legal Commerce of Firearms Act?

I remember back when Cali-pornia first proposed an AW ban. It was so stringent it even banned lever action rifles.
So much opposition was brought against it the lever action ban part was removed, and soon the bill shelved.
Then the State released seven time looser Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to buy a handgun passing the waiting periods, and buy an AK-47s in Oregon in violation of Federal law.
He then went and shot up the Stockton school yard and then killed himself.
The AW ban bill was pulled out and passed so fast
before opposition could be mounted against it.
The news media was ecstatic! They said where California went the rest of the US would follow! So far most of the US has not fallen in lock step with California.
Forget it Jake, it’s California.
States need to enact new legislation to enable continuous
litigation against the State of California
What about the 17-20 other states that follow California standards?
Yep
That is a problem; one that may very well destroy the Republic. But then, that is their whole purpose.
It surprised me when a big company like Honda advertises “49-state” models. I had no idea there were still corporate executives willing to say no to any stupid idea.
The Honda executive responsible for sassing California may very well be fired - or worse.
There is maybe a one percent chance other corporate leaders will grow a pair and start looking out for their stockholders and customers.
Elon Musk is sassing some of our overdogs too. It ain't all bad right this second.
Gun Makers were stupid not to have un-assed Kommiefornia years ago, to include refusing to sell to all state and local agencies, including Law Enforcement. Then let them reap what they sow.
All gun manufacturers will probably to South now.
