A) 9 GOP Hse mbrs or mbrs-elect sign a letter about McCarthy's offer to make concessions. "Regrettably, however, despite some progress achieved, Mr. McCarthy's statement comes almost impossibly late to address continued deficiencies ahead of the opening of the 118th Congress"
B) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "At this stage, it cannot be a surprise that expressions of vague hopes reflected in far too many of the crucial points still under debate are insufficient."
C) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "This is especially true with respect to Mr. McCarthy’s candidacy for speaker because the times call for radical departure from the status quo — not a continuation of past, and ongoing, Republican failures."
D) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "For someone with a 14-year presence in senior House Republican leadership, Mr. McCarthy bears squarely the burden to correct the dysfunction he now explicitly admits across that long tenure."
E) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "Thus far, there continue to be missing specific commitments with respect to virtually every component of our entreaties, and thus, no means to measure whether promises are kept or broken."
F) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "Mr. McCarthy's statement also continues to propose to restrict the availability of the traditional motion to vacate the chair as a means of holding leadership accountable to its promises"
G) 9 GOPers on McCarthy: "We have from the beginning made clear that we will not accept following..Pelosi’s example by insulating leadership..We also note that the statement fails completely to address the issue of leadership working to defeat conservatives in open primaries"
H) 9 GOPers: "The progress made thus far has been helpful and should guide our thinking going forward."
I) 9 GOPers who signed the letter: Perry, Gosar, Roy, Bishop, Harris, Clyde, & Reps-elect Luna, Ogles & Crane.

Are you saying McCarthy is McConnell? Maybe McConnell minus 70 IQ points.
Matt Gaetz is right. McCarthy stands for nothing except staying in power. He cannot be the next speaker of the house. We need somebody with a philosophy of governing and somebody who will do what they say. Any of Scalise, Johnson, Biggs, Roy would be way better.
Organized to do what? Same old same old?
… I’d rather have chaos than more of the same.…
More America Rescue Crap and Inflation Redoubling Act.
I second that motion!
I’d be really interested in seeing what they offered MTG
9 House GOPers Reject McCarthy Deal
Democrat mole wanted neon sign on
I concur. Everyone says we need to start fighting, then when a few do, everyone gets their shorts in a twist.
<>In order to win you only need a majority of the votes cast<>
That has always been my understanding.
We could end up with Nanzi again.
Jim Jordan says he doesn’t want it now.
If the Snowball keeps rolling, more Republicans ŵill start to come out against McCarthy if it becomes obvious that McCarthy doesn’t have the votes to win.
If there was a secret ballot, McCarthy will be history.
Every party leader is a great fundraiser. It’s the position they hold, not the person, that makes them a big fundraiser.
Dump McCarthy, and the next Speaker will swamp McCarthy fundraising numbers.
McCarthy intentionally withheld money from conservative nominees; Joe Kent in Washington District 3.
NEW: Just caught up w @GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy in the Capitol.
He said he's feeling "actually really good" as he entered the speaker of the House suite on the second floor of the Capitol.
I asked him if he'd set motion to vacate at one, and he smiled and walked in the office— Jake Sherman (@JakeSherman) January 2, 2023
Gaetz is with 4 other Repub Congress critter who will not vote for Mccarthy under any circumstances.
Andy Biggs, AZ
Ralph Norman, SC
Bob Good, VA
Matt Rosendale, MT
Fitton
interesting option!
A leader with a vision for the future is needed.
A leader who can focus on a few, clearly good, well communicated plans for the future is needed
Sounds like you are talking about Kari Lake.
No, the thing is, will the next 2 years of Democrat destruction of America’s economy and freedoms be a bipartisan effort?
I hope not.
Bless your heart, young one.
Looks like the Rats may have a say in who becomes Speaker.
I hope I’m wrong.

Let the democrats destroy the country.
The survivors can fix all these stupid issues in the successor state.
What a shame.
