I would believe they're painting this guy as something in an attempt to cover up the truth.
I'd suspect he's a Leftist, possibly afflicted with Gender Dysphoria, and a Bernie Sanders fan. They would have painted him as a MAGA supporter but their recent attempts to paint raging Leftist murders at gay bars as MAGA was exposed so now they're resorting to the "radical Muslim" story.

You are correct - London - implemented during the reign of its incumbent mayor Sadiq Khan. And, yes, the majority of knifings seem to be committed by descendants of the prophet Muhammad, PBUM.
The “21 foot rule”, also known as the Tueller Drill is only arguably useful only for police officers who are already prepped and prepared for the drill. The civilian equivalent has yet to even be estimated because of the variables.
1) The civilian is not expecting to be attacked.
2) The attacker may use subterfuge to “close the distance”.
3) The civilian must reach the conclusions that they are under attack and that they must defend themselves with their gun.
4) The civilian must pull their gun from its concealed location and brandish it towards the attacker.
These are all time, and thus distance, covering steps, while the civilian is judging the attacker and asking themselves several questions, like “Do I know him?” and “Is he angry with me?”
The civilian equivalent of the Tueller Drill is nightmarish.
