It is no secret that Ukraine needs defensive NATO-standard armored vehicles.
Speaking at the Pentagon in mid-September 2022, a forward-thinking “senior military official” noted that Ukraine “may need to transition to NATO compatible” armored vehicles, and that “tanks are absolutely on the table.”
But as 2023 looms, NATO-compatible tanks—even less heavily-armed defensive-oriented ones—are still stuck on the proverbial table.
Ukraine has no easy path forward. For modern armored vehicles, there just aren’t too many viable options available.
Unless a free-wheeling, on-the-move arms export powerhouse like South Korea rolls up with a surprise offer, only German or American tanks are available in sufficient numbers for Ukraine to start thinking about accumulating a standardized “single model” tank force for the future.

Lil Kim has fired 27 missiles this year and just sent a flight of drones over Seoul
Somehow I do not see ROK stripping its weapons armory to be burned in Ukraine
...and then give them defensive nuclear bombs.
That, and they’re selling a lot of tanks to the Poles. Which beats the heck out of giving them to the Ukrainians.

Great, a Fauchi disciple telling us how to run our military.
As a total welfare nation, they depend solely on the western welfare for survival.
Our money is given to pay directly their government’s salary, our money is given for arms, ammo, supplies…..Not much the West can give them to turn the tide.
Ukraine 1991-2023 RIP.
Abrams tanks would be nearly useless, at least in the near-medium term
It would take many months for Ukrainians to be trained on the repair and maintenance of the turbine engines and other systems. The Ukrainians are used to soviet/russian diesel engines. If damaged tanks would not be sent back to Germany, then I can only imagine how many dozens of US “contractors” would need to be stationed in Ukraine for Abrams to make a difference.
Also, does the US want Russia capturing the most advanced US tanks?
I don’t get the problem with using the Warsaw Bloc’s T72s. Israel upgunned and uparmored Shermans into very successful combat vehicles , able to meet and defeat the T54s and T55s of the Syrians and Egyptians and the M47s and Centurions of Jordan. I would think the Ukies could make do with T72s unless their tactical doctrine calls for using armor in open field mass attacks like are shown on old Soviet propaganda films.
“That points Ukraine firmly towards Leopard I tanks, M-60 Patton Main Battle tanks, early-model Abrams tanks and even the U.S. Army’s unwieldy up-gunned, eight-wheeled Strykers.”
France only needs tanks for parades. They could donate hundreds of LeClercs to the Sorosites.
What a really cute cat.
Interesting how frequently NATO is referenced to Ukraine (non-member).......yet there are people who still are in denial that this is a Nato/US war against Russia being fought in Ukraine.
What is the difference between an offensive and defensive tank?
A defensive tank?
RIGHT!!!
And a skunk scent is not really ‘offensive’ it is in reality defensive. But it still is a skunk, right? RIGHT?!
These people are dangerous.
That looks like a t34 turret. The Germans did something similar with the Panther.
There have been multiple reports of Russians rescuing newby UKronazis sealed inside a tank.
F Ukraine and F Russia.. it’s a European problem. Let them solve it.
How about WWII Italian tanks. You know, the ones with one speed in forward and six in reverse.
