I wonder how they knew who to look for, as no talk of previous arrests. Will be interesting to hear details if he makes it back to Idaho alive.
Law enforcement sources told CNN that his DNA was discovered at the scene of the crime – with officers managing to track down who owned the car seen in the area of the slayings.
However, Kohberger has no prior arrests, according to public records, so it is unclear how officials got hold of his DNA.
Authorities then discovered that he had left the area and traveled to Pennsylvania, where an FBI surveillance team had been tracking the 6ft tall man.
He was kept under surveillance, with the FBI watching him for four days, while investigators from Moscow Police and Idaho State Police worked to get an arrest warrant.
Once LE had DNA, it was a matter of time before they could narrow down the search.
He was bothering one of the girls in the bar and the UBER driver said the white Elantra was following him.
The car and the DNA. It will be interesting to find out why these 4 were picked to die. How he got in there. Why the dog didn’t bark it’s arse off. And why did he do it? Was he alone?

Judge Jeanine said they used Ancestry DNA for genealogical purpose. Apparently one of his relatives had his DNA test done and they were able to link his DNA to the family. It was just a matter of figuring out which relative had a white Elantra.
I'd guess they had his DNA early on but without previous arrests it took time to figure out who it belonged to.
