May God Bless you and hold you in his arms.

Good Popes are more numerous than Bad ones, and you were one of the Good ones. Thank you and Rest In Peace.

Here’s the thing. There is nothing that should have forced him. There is no scandal or power that is a greater evil than what he did.
He was given a cross and he laid it down. It’s the choice before all of us.

RIP Pope Benedict. A better pope than the communist occupying the office now.

I don't know what to think.....he should never had stepped down, but the inner me says he was forced to step down which means the Catholic pope and hierarchy are corrupt beyond hell....

He stepped down for health reasons?

You expect journalists and editors to understand the meaning of words they use? What’s wrong with you?

I am most certainly catholic in the sense of universal christian as opposed to Roman Catholic or protestant as a protest.

I guess my favorite understanding was from Thomas C Oden and that was to view myself as “orthodox” — I take my belief seriously and feeling the weight of generations of fellow believers.

He wanted to retire when JP II was Pope, but felt he couldn’t because JP was so ill but was carrying on. B16 was a staunch believer of the Traditional Mass. Sad to see where we are now

Don’t really care. The job of “pope” has become a JOKE!

My dog is more Christian than THIS pope.

Why did the last one resign? He must have done something blackmail worthy.

Pope John Paul II is the only pope in my lifetime to have my respect. He might just be the ONLY pope in heaven.

Raymond Arroyo who interviewed him as a cardinal and Pope mentioned he was a bit of a hypochondriac but in truth I believe there was more to him retiring then meets the eye...Burt then I don’t think John Paul I died a natural death.

In terms of being famous, Pelé is right up there. He’s certainly far more famous than Barbara Walters, and probably more than any particular pope.

Let’s hope he entrusted himself to Christ alone for salvation and eternal life in His presence.

I saw Pope Francis the other day on TV and he was being pushed in a wheelchair so he may not be long either.

I liked it when Pope Benedict would call out Islam for the violent religion it is.
