Trump Suggests He’d Be Willing to Exercise the Bull Moose Option in Cryptic Truth Social Post
American Tribune ^ | 12/29/2022 | Will (staff)

"The Republican Party of 1912 decided it would be better off renominating William Howard Taft, even though its voters would have preferred another Roosevelt term. The resulting split ushered in Woodrow Wilson and the first academic globalists, whose bright ideas laid the groundwork for a second world war on the eve of the conclusion of the first. ...

But, despite the obvious differences, we’re heading for a 1912-repeat, in which the Republican Party ignores its own voters. The Republican machine has no intention of letting us choose Trump again: He is not a uniparty team player. They’d rather lose an election to the Democrats, their brothers in crime, than win with Trump.

That leads us to the inevitable question: What should we do when a majority of Republicans want Trump, but the Republican Party says we can’t have him?"

I think Trump is too old and there are no Republicans worth voting for so I’ll just vote for the state and county offices.

Is that a joke??

I know my kids and their friends are moderate in terms of homosexuality but they are fiscal conservatives. We got to fight for fiscal conservativism because we are letting our kids and grandkids pay for our spending.

Who cares what 2 consenting adults (and yes, Adults) do in their bedroom. I don't, but if we are fighting homosexuality, young people who are looking for smaller government will just vote 3rd party (Libertarian/Constitution). We are not welcoming young conservatives into the Republican Party, because they are used to homosexuality and gay marriage. What they want is for Republicans to stop the debt they have to pay. They don't care if their neighbors are gay, straight or green with purple polka dots, they want CONGRESS to stop spending. The Republican Party will be dead in 10 years...

VDH whinged about this exactly three weeks ago -- the fear that Trump will go Bull Moose -- and it is appropriate that I re-deliver the smackdown:

VDH has actually forgotten history, and how the Election of 1912 actually transpired conspired:

In November 1911, a group of Ohio Republicans endorsed Roosevelt for the party's nomination for president; the endorsers included James R. Garfield and Dan Hanna. This endorsement was made by leaders of President Taft's home state. Roosevelt conspicuously declined to make a statement—requested by Garfield—that he would flatly refuse a nomination. Soon thereafter, Roosevelt said, "I am really sorry for Taft... I am sure he means well, but he means well feebly, and he does not know how! He is utterly unfit for leadership and this is a time when we need leadership." In January 1912, Roosevelt declared "if the people make a draft on me I shall not decline to serve". Later that year, Roosevelt spoke before the Constitutional Convention in Ohio, openly identifying as a progressive and endorsing progressive reforms—even endorsing popular review of state judicial decisions.

Roosevelt began to envision himself as the savior of the Republican Party from defeat in the upcoming presidential election. In February 1912, Roosevelt announced in Boston, "I will accept the nomination for president if it is tendered to me. I hope that so far as possible the people may be given the chance through direct primaries to express who shall be the nominee.

Elihu Root and Henry Cabot Lodge thought that division of the party would lead to its defeat in the next election, while Taft believed that he [Roosevelt] would be defeated either in the Republican primary or in the general election.

The 1912 primaries represented the first extensive use of the presidential primary, a reform achievement of the progressive movement...The greatest primary fight came in Ohio, Taft's base. Both the Taft and Roosevelt campaigns worked furiously, and La Follette joined in. Each team sent in big name speakers. Roosevelt's train went 1800 miles back and forth in the one state, where he made 75 speeches. Taft's train went 3000 miles criss-crossing Ohio and he made over 100 speeches.

Roosevelt swept the state, convincing Roosevelt that he should intensify his campaigning, and letting Taft know he should work from the White House not the stump. Only a third of the states held primaries; elsewhere the state organization chose the delegations to the national convention and they favored Taft. The final credentials of the state delegates at the national convention were determined by the national committee, which was controlled by Taft men. - wikipedia

"Same as the last Trump term — both parties in congress hamstring him."

EO renewal kicks the Great Reset down the road 4 years. Worth it for that alone. CMON MAN!

It's not salient because there's no end game smacking Americans in the face!

Better to have Trump in office issuing a million Executive Orders tying the goddamn Democrats in knots, than to re-enable Paul Ryan's "fiscally conservative" RINO onanism! They were NEVER GODDAMN "fiscally conservative" to begin with!!

Oh, I didn’t know that a JAG officer was a government job? He was in the military, so was Grant and Ike...

It’ll be Brandon in a walk unless we select a uniparty globalist. Your vote outside the system will be fraudulent replaced every time.

The problem is that your vote didn’t count the fourth time.
Fraud.

I agree we need someone new. Trump is stuck in the past and is hauling around too much baggage. He never was that popular except with his base. His successes never translated into high poll numbers. Independents won’t be with him in 2021. I think DeSantis can beat him in a primary.

Not only is Trump generally unpopular with the average voter, he will be too old. As Biden’s dementia becomes even more apparent, voters will be even less likely to accept someone as old as Trump.

Ok, i see what you are saying. Now what we need is that we need to stop a civil war as Republicans. We call each others RINOs if the person is not 100% agree with our viewpoints. The Dems are better with their infighting because they don’t call others DINOs. We need to rebuild our local party committee and focus on 3 items: Spending, our borders and limited government.

You are free to assume that presidential and random other very important battleground elections aren’t rigged, I don’t mind.

I’d give my left nut to see Trump form a 3rd party!!!

“Treason from within...” is what the R leadership has become.

I’d work my arse off to support such an event. All my resources would go to it. Day and night. And I’m just a schmoe. But there’s another 100,000 out there waiting for something big like this to destroy the uniparty forever.

All or nothing. No fence sitters. No pansies.

Live free or die!!!

Right — I stand corrected. JAG officers are actually employed by top NYC and DC law firms while they are deployed. /sarcasm off/

Being familiar with the Declaration (printed it on hard paper after setting the type by hand in the 8th grade print shop), and the Constitution, I up to this time was not aware there was a clause in either document that once being elected to the Presidency, a citizen would have his citizenship revoked, either temporarily while in office or permanently.

Was there one person in 2016 who could have replaced this man?

No.

The fact that he was a (mere) citizen and overcame the cheat intended to give the grifter couple another turn at the wheel was the very reason they came after him, with the full force of the then sitting president, the vice president, the CIA, the FBI, and most of the upper echelon of the United States government, of both parties.

Yet, that citizen survived, did not commit suicide, did not suffer a heart attack, and every single charge thrown at him proved to be lie. EVERY SINGLE ONE!

That citizen did in fact do more for this country than any sitting president before him.

It was squandered, and reversed, not because it was good or bad, but because it was fostered by, and set into motion, by him.

The "government" is virtually and in a most real sense, tried to, and is still in the process of, completely canceling him, his endeavors, and his fame, fortune, and sacred honor.

King george was a piker compared to what has been used against this, this citizen.

I, for one do not think of him as a king, a ruler, a government henchman, or director, or dictator.

He is just a man, a citizen, who loves his country, and at this time, I see no other person stepping up, willing to put it up, one more time, for the sake of the country, and not for his personal gain.

Your mileage may vary. We shall see how it shakes out.

Bleat on, Benedict, bleat on... Just remember this, that necessarily if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Do something, don’t just pout in the corner.

I’m ok with that, honestly. This whole thing needs to be burned to the ground. No better way than to let them do it.

👍 Bada Bada BING!
