For the past billion years or so, the Ice Age pattern on Earth has been, approximately, 100,000 years of significant cold, with interludes of warmth lasting 10-15,000 years. We may have Little Ice Ages (look it up) before the Great Cold returns. We live such short, wonderful lives. Not very long ago New York and Chicago were under a mile of ice; that cold and ice WILL return, and all we can do is adapt.

PS Real scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) just proved with an instrument on one of the Mars rovers that we can make MASSIVE amounts of oxygen from the Mars atmosphere. Oxygen for us to breathe, and use as part of rocket fuel. I wish more billionaires would join Musk in our reach for the stars. Our Sun will eventually expand. We need to spread out, to Mars and beyond. The moon Titan, and many asteroids, have all the hydrocarbons we need. Further development of ion propulsion (yes, it is not Star Trek, it’s real) and away we go!
