Freedom Caucus Rep. Bob Good (VA-5) joined the nationally-syndicated Stew Peters Show and vowed never to vote for Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House, telling the host that the GOP establishment leader will be defeated on the House floor during January 3rd’s speakership vote if he doesn’t step aside first, for the good of the country.
Freedom Caucus Rep. Bob Good has been among those legislators leading the charge against establishment leader Kevin McCarthy’s speakership campaign, forging serious and continued opposition with other House conservatives, who vow that CCP-tied, FTX-funded McCarthy will NEVER be Speaker of the House.
During his appearance on the Stew Peters Show, a program that’s become a top destination for America First legislators who want to speak directly to the American People, Good doubled down on his opposition to Kevin McCarthy’s speakership campaign and said he’s confident that his conservative colleagues will stand tall alongside him on January 3rd.
“I have told my colleagues, the 20 or so who are part of this movement, we will remember what we do on January 3rd and beyond for the rest of our lives,” Rep. Good told Stew Peters.
“We must meet the moment. We must rise to the occasion to try to bring transformational change, to defeat the swamp cartel, the uni-party, by doing what hasn’t been done for 100 years where we deny the next in line, majority leader, minority leader, what have you, the vote for Speaker on the House floor, and we take down that supposed favorite for that position to bring true transformational change,” the Freedom Caucus Rep. from Virginia went on.
“We will remember for the rest of our lives that we stood strong and struck a blow against the uni-party, the swamp cartel,” said Rep. Good.

That is a scare tactic. The RINOs wont do this and put the Dems essentially in charge.
It’s unprecedented and unlikely to happen unless this drags on for months then maybe.
McCarthy should just step down and I think he will
I just hate giving anyone with that mindset their way, under any circumstances.
Just like Paul Ryan did last time.
What could go wrong?
I think he will resign before he has to rely on Dem votes.
Because there would be uproar all over America and within the House GOP and the job would be very difficult if not impossible.
What would be the point in having all this turmoil?
FR strikes me as very defeatist sometimes. These congressmen know what they’re doing.
If you believe the rumors there are 20+ not just 5-6.
He has no where near the votes and needs to resign.
Let him think about it over Christmas dinner!
Well, hey, the “20 or so” who are opposed to McCarthy could have simply told The turtle that if the senate passes the omnibus, that Mccarthy doesn’t get through speaker, pitt establishment against establishment. Mccarthy said he wanted the senate to wait until they took over,.now they have nothing, whats the point of showing, if the budget is already passed, the dems got every single thing they wanted, no cuts next year, just CR up til election then turtle says we gotta go along to ensure political victory.
So, who are you gonna vote FOR, Good?
McCarthy showed no metal when Mitch and little band of Traitors sided with Schmukie this week. He should have been raising hell to stop the awful spending bill all week and it showed what a weak ineffective fighter he is.
He won’t reveal his hand just yet.
You got to trust them I think. The scenarios and scare tactics aside.
IF- Kevin McCarthy IS so bad of a pick, and I tend to agree... the Dems COULD cross over party lines and support him, WHICH would validate all of those trending against him. Having the Dems support him, would be the kiss of death, but it is doable in the parliamentary sense/process.
One particular Speaker race required 133 ballot votes, and took over 2 months to decide.
Hold The Line!
McCarthy is a chameleon. Don’t trust this guy.
Make the selection go a dozen or so ballots. No one is stepping up now, but when the party realizes these guys aren’t playing the usual kabuki, they will be forced to negotiate. With that said, part of me wonders if McCarthy has seen the writing on the wall, and wants to be more than just the next failed republican house leader. I haven’t seen any action that makes me believe that, all republicans talk tough before they cave, but maybe some of the conservatives who are supporting him believe he can change.
How does this work?
It’s possible but its a “nuclear” type scenario.
I dont think they will dare do it but I could be wrong.
I have money on Scalise
They keep voting until someone has 218 votes
Freepersup posted the longest time it took (I think 2 months) that was from the 1850s I believe.
There are only a few who would be able to manage the Speakership.
Comer
Perry
maybe Scalese
Mast
Rosenthaular (spelling)
or a Female named Stefinak
We need someone who is GOOD AT SPEAKING FULENTLY AND TRUTHFULLY.
If he gets defeated by a floor vote, he should keep his name in and let them see if they can get to 218 with a different candidate.
“After two months and 133 ballots…”
