Printer settings changed on Election Day, linked to tabulators rejecting ballots: Maricopa official

A top Maricopa County elections official admitted Thursday in the Kari Lake election challenge trial that incorrect Election Day changes to ballot-on-demand printer settings were a factor in ballots being rejected by tabulators.

Lake, the 2022 Arizona GOP gubernatorial nominee, is suing her Democratic opponent, Governor-elect and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs; Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer; the county Board of Supervisors; and county Director of Elections Scott Jarrett.

Lake's case alleges the "number of illegal votes cast in Arizona's general election ... far exceeds the 17,117 vote margin" between her and Hobbs.

Jarrett, who testified as a witness for the plaintiff on Wednesday and as a witness for the defendants on Thursday, admitted under direct examination by defense counsel that the county is conducting a root cause analysis of the Election Day issues. During this post-election analysis, the county found last month that one of the problems with ballot-on-demand printers was a "fit-to-paper" or "shrink-to-fit" setting adjusted on Election Day, Jarrett said.

Maricopa County has admitted that 70 of its 223 vote centers experienced ballot printer issues on Election Day, while Lake alleges in her lawsuit that about 132 of them did.

Under cross-examination by Lake's counsel, Jarrett explained that the setting was changed by a temporary technician at one of the vote centers who was trying to find a solution to the printer issues. The setting was adjusted on the tech's own initiative, not at the direction of the Maricopa County Elections Department, Jarrett testified.

As test prints were done for vote centers prior to Election Day, no shrink-to-fit printer setting issues were identified, Jarrett said. He he didn't know if all technicians were asked about the shrink-to-fit issue.

Anyone who believes that these elections are honest is a naïve fool or colludes with Democrats. Democracy is dying. A corrupt fraud now holds the Presidency.

Hobbs was running this fiasco to steal the electoon. Now she’s the new governor. The J6 protest in the District of Corruption was as justified as the Boston Tea Party. I can see why the RAT bass turds are so pissed off. They wanted their BIG STEAL to come off quietly without a hitch and Americans screwed it up. The RAT bass turds all need to be in jail. Starting with their lyin’ ass “media”.

But look at what’s really important - Mitch McConnell, by signing off on the Omnibus Bill that screws the Republican base and the US of A, can get home to Kentucky by December 23rd! So what that Hobbs stole the election, it doesn’t bother the Republican elite just as Biden stealing the election got rid of Trump.

"A corrupt fraud now holds the Presidency."

.

But if he is a senile Alzheimer's victim fraud,
is he himself even aware that he is a fraud?

Maybe just a robotic automaton moron just doing whatever he is told to do?

???

Someone changed the settings to reject ballots and slow down the process knowing Repubs had waited.

they hand counted (or didn’t count) the spoiled ballots. They will show in court that the ballots were hand counted. end of story.

Watching Steve Bsnnon right now.

They admitted the fit to print fraud happened in 2020, and the 2022 primaries.

Like the RAT “media” would say, “Just some minor sh*t. Nothing serious.” Asking RAT voters to provide proof of who they are is a major crime.

So chain-of-custody is just a silly anachronism?

I think it's funny that the defense said "You reap what you sow" -- as in, Republicans recommending that people vote on Election Day instead of during early. Tough as it may be, I happen to agree, but for other reasons.

I personally made it a point to vote on the first day that I could. First, I never received my mail-in ballot by then (that arrived a week later) and so was afraid that someone might impersonate me and vote the silly thing. I expected ne'er-do-wells to try their dirty tricks. Voting early was to spike their attempts, at least on my vote.

And of the ballot that appeared in my mailbox? I shredded it and added it to the paper recycling, and dumped the bin with the pieces after the election winners were announced.

This is the "new normal" as far as I'm concerned. I watched the many ways people cheat while living in Cook County IL last century. I personally believe that the 2020 election was dealt a "death of a thousand cuts", as so many never-Trumpers believed they needed to take extraordinary action to prevent the will of the people to shine through. In other words, the corruption was so wide-spread that the Courts couldn't concentrate on a single cheat -- there were too many different cheats, with most of them going undetected.

But it’s all the fault of voter who expected to be able to vote on “election day.” - Hobb’s attorney trying to put the Bee out of business.

On Thursday, Jarrett revealed that another printer issue found by Maricopa County's root cause analysis was that the heat settings weren't high enough to correctly print the marks the tabulators needed to scan. He testified that any ballots that couldn't be read by machines at vote centers but were put into Door 3 were later duplicated on new ballots and tabulated at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC).

who did the duplicating? What’s to stop someone from “duplicating” ballot A, who voted Republican and switch it to Democrat? Who was supervising this ballot “duplication”?

“He he didn’t know if all technicians were asked about the shrink-to-fit issue.”

I liked that part. ‘Gosh no, I never asked any of my buddies and coworkers if they had problems...’

And then, when we get HIS boss on the stand, and he says, ‘It never occurred to me to check and see if they all used the setting, so I don’t know either’.
