Would the Poles be intent on re-taking territory from Ukraine, or be there to resist Russia?
Serious question; Poland and Ukraine are not “friends”.
That’s a very good question. I think Matt has some maps that bear on the history behind your question.
I am sure that they are looking to take back Galicia and Volyn.
Poland and Ukraine both detest Putin/Russians for good reason.

You’re quite right...Poland was the enemy circa 1944...wouldn’t even recognize them as a country. I have an old NYS newspaper that tells the truth.
There is no question if the Ukraine government is threatened with takeover from Russia, Poland would move into the Western part to protect her interests. While Poles generally don't support retaking Lwów, they still would not sit idly by and allow Russia to get it.
The Poles have no intention on taking territory from Ukraine. Not even the most radical nationalists want anything more than acknowledgement of Polish heritage in Lviv .
Poland and UK were not, before 2014, friends.
But they have grown closer since 2014.
And now, thanks to Putin they are close friends
