Chuck Grassley Blocks Republican Establishment’s Green Card Giveaway for Biden’s Afghans

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) successfully blocked the Republican establishment, joined by Democrats, in their efforts to slip a provision in a year-end spending package that would give green cards to tens of thousands of Afghans brought to the United States by President Joe Biden despite allegations of widespread vetting failures.

Following the U.S. Armed Forces’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, Biden opened a refugee pipeline that has resettled more than 86,000 Afghans in American communities — many without having to be screened or interviewed in person beforehand.

At least we have a one or two representatives pretending to have America’s best interest at heart. Now, what is Grassley demanding to withdraw his objections? Because I’m sure this is not a principled decision. This is just a “I didn’t get what I asked for in the pork allocations” objection.
