Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) compared Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address to Congress to when former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill’s 1941 address asked the United States to go to war with Europe.
Pelosi said in her letter to lawmakers that she has “great pride and solemnity” to welcome Zelensky on Wednesday to Congress, where he will address both chambers in a Joint Meeting of Congress.
The outgoing speaker, leaving a “personal note,” compared Zelensky’s congressional visit to Churchill’s historic wartime address in the Senate Chamber when he spoke before an informal meeting of Congress the day after Christmas in 1941:

Correct. Churchill NEVER addressed Congress to get the US into WWII— it was multiple behind the scene phonecalls to FDR that did that, coordinated with MI-6 and the Ultra code and the Jap Purple Code which the Brits had broken and not shared with the US. For Starters.

Ukraine already using American missile tech to attack on Russian soil. Putin has warned if this takes place there will be consequences.
That said, Russian leaders aren’t stupid. They know full well they are at war with America/NATO. It’s just a matter of time before this war spreads. It is OUR leaders that are stupid...or perhaps intentional.
I believe Putin is damned serious about using those nukes (on the US) and we keep poking the bear time and again. We are asking for it.
My only consolation is that given the quality of Russian weapons seen so far, about the only meaningful targets they are likely to hit with nukes are the big blue cities.

When Churchill addressed the joint session of Congress on December 26, 1941, the US was already IN the war, because Japan had already attacked Pearl Harbor, you senile old bat! No. I take that back. Maybe you’re not senile, just suffering from an ice cream brain freeze. No, I take that back. Maybe you’re just drunk. No, I take that back. Maybe you just were lying again, and thought that the American People were so ignorant, nobody would notice. No, I take it back. Maybe you’re really that ignorant that you think America joined the war because Churchill came over and said “pwetty pwease!”.
There’s only one parallel in the Bible that sheds light on all this. It occurred when Joash, ordinarily a straight thinking ruler decided to unnecessarily involve his country in a war between Egypt and the Assyrians. Pharaoh Necho said to stay out of it, that it was none of his business.
