Yes, I agree with that this is currently a proxy war like Vietnam and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
The Soviets and China supported and armed North Vietnam while the USA was on the ground fighting, and Afghanistan was the opposite with roles reversed.
And Ukraine is no different at present, however the exception now is that our fearless leaders in the White House, Congress and the DC establishment are actually promoting the possibility of committing US forces into the fight. And that would in fact be WW3, including nuclear weapons.

I heard some Freeper compare Zelensky to Churchill (one of my most admired personages) and I thought how low things had gone where someone could even think that, but I think I understood where that Freeper was coming from, though on the surface, I disagreed. But now...our own corrupt government is doing it.
