Of course, this is not a scientific poll but reflects how informed Republicans feel about Cornyn.

I met Cornyn at the 2002 Texas Republican Convention before he was elected to his first term. My first impression was that he was a sleezeball. My impression turned out to be more than correct.

Tea Parties across Texas tried to get rid of Cornyn in the 2014 election. We were able to get his vote in the primary down to 59% but he was reelected by low information voters.

Low info voters.......

Well a lot of people are occupied by many other things and
pulling the lever on a voting machine is a few minute process.
That’s if the decide to vote at all. Lots still don’t vote.

He’ll win again. No one has the money to go against him. Depressing.

Cornyn’s MO is that he will start buying advertising starting in September of 2023.
Once an hour on every conservative radio station in Texas.
In January of 2024 it will be updated to 4 times an hour.

Waste of time article. They should be talking about potential people to defeat him rather than fake polls of their own readers.

I was really hopeful that Dwayne Stovall, a real conservative, would defeat Cornyn in 2020 in the primary, but he only came in a very distant second at 11%. Why are Texas voters so stupid?

The problem is no one will run against him. Who has the money? Who has the background? If it is Dem against Rep, Cornyn will continue to win. We haven’t had a credible opponent in decades. This is how RINO’s continue to get elected when they are so disliked. If Texas had a “Blake from AZ” or what’s her name in Alaska, they would easily be elected. Nobody likes Cornyn, but we don’t want a Dem.

Cornyn has done enough for me in Texas. Our HUGE PROBLEM is that we have our own Deep State and they CRIPPLE our State House, despite HUGE Republican majorities, at least in the past.

Even if Reagan were in the Governor’s Mansion, he’d be hard-pressed to get more done than Cornyn.

“If the election were held today ...”

Incumbents still get reelected a high percentage of the time.

Incumbents know this. They also know voters seem to have short memories.

Since it’s close to impossible to eliminate the 17th amendment state legislatures should start looking at ways to remove their undesirable US senators. Here’s one method: A recall election (also called a recall referendum, recall petition or representative recall) is a procedure by which, in certain polities, voters can remove an elected official from office through a referendum before that official’s term of office has ended. It would be nice to recall one of our state’s senators, Mitch McConnell.

Just run Beto again and any Republican that survives the primary will win.

Several of those REPUBLICANS pushing this Omnibus Spending monstrosity were just recently reelected to another term. Several others are set until 2026.

Hang ON!

When that monstrosity passes late tonight or early in the morning, it is going empower inflation for the foreseeable ...

I’ve met him too. What a dead fish for a personality. I really would not vote for him for student body president.
