It seems the FBI came into existence when the DOJ simply started to hire its own full time investigators in 1908. Congress generally agreed later in the 1920s to more funding and organization changes, forming the “modern” FBI. Many Congressmen opposed the creation of a Federal Police force, for exactly the reasons we see today.
Make the FBI go away.
I don’t think there is any chance they dismantle the FBI as a whole, but I strongly suspect the Republican Congress prohibit the use of funds for specific purposes.

When I did listen to Hannity 2 yrs ago He was all in that just the top of the bureau where corrupt. Wrong. Please go back to hammering nails & quit the fraud.
There was/is a lot of support for the FBI on the right especially with the pundits like Hannity.
I’m all for ‘back the blue’ and LEOs but not a federal force.
This is where they get confused and giving them all kinds of money and power was always asking for trouble.
Now hopefully everyone can see it...

I have graduated to the level that if ever called to sit on jury where F Eye B is a testifying witness or their materials (e.g. DNA test results) are used by the prosecutors, I shall find more than reasonable doubt for the defendant - even if the other 11 vote to convict.
