WASHINGTON — The giant annual spending bill unveiled by Congress on Tuesday contains more than $44 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine, renewing the U.S. commitment to the country’s defense as Russia’s invasion grinds toward a second year.

The new wave of aid for Ukraine — billions more than President Biden requested in mid-November — comes amid growing concerns among the country’s backers about the depth of America’s support. Some Republicans have questioned the massive spending, while some progressives have called for peace talks.

more than $44 billion

Does anyone else remember when the Republican Congress wouldn't give Trump $5 billion for a security wall?

It’s the Democrat slush fund. Zelensky is a hero because he honors his kickback commitment.

Yep...they actually tried to argue that it was a “waste of money”. Hard to believe isn’t it? The same group of corrupt POS that agree to $1.7 Trillion dollar bills won’t toss out chump change to to do something broadly popular with the US public.

The wisdom of supporting Ukraine aside, the United States is a debtor nation. So a more accurate title for the article would be:

Congress Proposes Borrowing More Than $44 Billion for Ukraine

Sigh. Except for Rand Paul, literally no one in DC cares about this.

Zelensky is clever at least

The opportunities to milk the great whore of DC for massive $$$$ is very rare, and doesn’t last long when it appears.

Get while the gettin’ is good.

All they need to do is to call for “READ THE BILL.”

It is so big the session will be over before they finish reading it.

question -

(a) pay a little now with NO American troops killed, to keep warmongering Russia in check ...

OR

(b) pay a LOT later, including lots of American troops killed, to keep warmongering Russia in check

... which is the more sensible choice??

I consider Putin to be a war criminal. Regardless, I would suggest that your post include one additional option:

(c). The United States cannot be the world’s policeman. The Russian-Ukrainian war is Europe’s problem. Let Europe fund the Ukrainians as they wish.

So why doesn’t Pedo Joe put together a coalition of the willing and launch a swift, terrible strike at Russia and end this “war”? Ruskies won’t use nukes, or so I am told, and in three weeks or so we could have UN/Coalition troops marching in Red Square to the sound of YMCA, Z is the new Jesus and the world is made safe for globalism.

He should ask for a formal declaration of war, if we’re being honest. But that’s not what this is about.
