A Florida teenager accused of trying to kill his mother because she kept asking him to clean his room allegedly beat her with a frying pan and stabbed her with a pocket knife.
Tobias "Toby" Jacob Brewer, 17, was arrested and booked into juvenile detention on Nov. 30 after allegedly attacking his mother and then leading authorities on a pursuit, Fox Orlando reported.
His case has been transferred to adult court, the news outlet said.
Brewer allegedly told investigators that he stabbed his mother multiple times and hit her on the head with a frying pan because she was "constantly on his case about cleaning his room."
"The suspect advised that he does not like cleaning his room and was tired of the victim (his mom) constantly harping about it," the report stated. Brewer told detectives that he then took both of his mom's car keys and took money out of her purse "so that he can have money once he left the area," a probable cause affidavit said.

His Mom kept his room clean?
My mother ruled with an iron fist. She kept 5 teenagers in line while my father traveled for work.
She was only 5’2” tall, but possessed the dexterity of Stretch Armstrong and the smack force of Bruce Lee.
If Will Smith tried his Oscar trick on my mom, she would have b-slapped him off the stage, gone into the audience, and b-slapped his wife, too.
This kid would not have survived 5 minutes in my mother’s house. She would have whipped his behind, made him clean his room, and then sat him down for some home-made brownies to find out what was really bothering him.
When my son turned 13, he shot up to over 6’ tall. He was a linebacker and ate us out of house and home. He also decided he didn’t need to listen to me anymore because he was bigger and stronger.
Foolish boy.
My husband heard his disrespectful tone, barged in, and got right in his face. “She is my wife! YOU do not talk to MY wife that way.” Because my husband is so strong, he always checked his strength, didn’t raise his hands to our children, and was notorious for not letting his emotions show. Both my son and I were shocked by his ferocious growl and the implied threat in his tone. I realized it was a masterful move on my husband’s part to reframe the situation as a powerplay between two large males.
Our son turned three shades of green before sheepishly apologizing.
He never talked back to me again.
Impressive as heck.
Unfortunately he will get out of juvenile detention and then probably be in the news again for using something more lethal than a pocket knife or a frying pan.

The work ethic is gone, video games and spare time. Dad had us mowing yards at 7, newspaper route at 10, cub scouts, working fast food joints at 16, church 3 times a week, school (sports for me, music for my brother) we never had time to get into trouble.
My oldest sister (leftist) is a complete pig. Mom was a good example of cleanliness, but probably should have held her to task.
As an adult I’ve thrown out lots of toys and “stuff” that didn’t get picked up... it was kind of shocking to the kids but I got my point across.
After the 3rd “decluttering” it started to sink in. We also shifted the focus of gifts and got off the Christmas bandwagon of useless BS. It was all positive when extra curricular outside activities were focused on. But it takes committment from all family members. It’s not a matter of “do you wanna” but more of “let’s go.”
He looks soft and squishy. He’ll have fuuun in his new digs. Will make a lot of new friends.

Definitely that. And that’s the parents’ fault. Probably Mom worked outside the home instead of being an actual mother.

I doubt there’s a father in the picture. Whether Mom failed out of lack of judgment or lack of support, I don’t know, but she’s a lot safer with this dead-eyed little monster in custody.

See! You don’t need an “assault rifle”. Ahol murderers are going to attack, maim and kill whether they have a gun or not. Especially if they don’t want to clean their room.
Have you ever listened to moms in the grocery store or out on the street? Most of them will tell the kid(s) to stop doing the bad behavior or they’ll be spanked or “put in time out” if they don’t stop. The trouble comes when the mom says this 10 times to the kid but doesn’t follow through with the threat and the kid just keeps up the bad behavior. Growing up, my Mom would give the threat and if we didn’t stop immediately, she followed through. No second chances, no more warnings. And she didn’t care if there were other people around, we got the spanking tight there and then.
You married very, very well. I always advise young men to marry up. We (men) need the help. Presuming your husband married up, you must be exceptional! Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family.
