Former President Donald Trump addressed an audience gathered at his Mar-a-Lago club and estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday night for the Log Cabin Republicans’ Spirit of Lincoln gala, the conservative LGBTQ group’s flagship event.
“We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said.
“Last night, we had over 450 LGBT conservatives and our straight allies join us for another amazing Spirit of Lincoln gala,” Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran told the Washington Blade.
“While the speakers and award honorees spanned the conservative spectrum, all of them, including President Trump, articulated a deep appreciation for our community and committed to our broader inclusion and support for gay rights,” Moran said, adding, “This is the bar we’ll be holding all GOP candidates to in 2023 and 2024.”
Last year, the Log Cabin Republicans honored Melania Trump with its Spirit of Lincoln award, citing her work combatting bullying in her role as first lady.
However, the group’s support of the former president, his family and his administration has not come without controversy — even among members of its own leadership, prompting Jerri Ann Henry to resign from her position as executive director in 2019.

Every one of these individuals would presumably profess to believe that grooming and perverted sexual thirst for boys has nothing to do with same-sex attraction on the part of grown men. The problem, of course, and as the Catholic Church has been dragged kicking and screaming to realize and acknowledge, is that the complete opposite is true. It is an outgrowth of adult male SSA and cannot be addressed honestly or effectively unless and until the problem of adult male SSA is first confronted and brought to heel.
The RALLY Trump doesn’t want you to know about.
Rally the base, bring them home, and then go after the middle.
But the Log Cabin stuff pretty much screws up this theory. It now appears that Trump has no real strategy to get elected and that he's just campaigning for the fun of it. (Which is believable. I always thought that Trump enjoyed running for president more than actually being president.)

Whoever he/she/they are, the advisers need to be fired immediately.
I refuse to honor anyone because of who they have intercourse with, especially when it goes against Gods word. Honor them as republicans, Americans, etc. but not for their sexual perversion. Trump has just about completely lost my support and I have been one of his strongest supporters but if he is going to try and please the LGBT community to get elected then it will be without my support and vote. I guess DeSantis is my new hope.

Jared and Ivanka left politics before Trump announced his 2024 run. They are not advising him.

Thank you! I agree that if Trump wants to win, he has to be somewhat inclusive and if folks think he was anti-gay have not been paying attention. Also God says to hate the sin and not the sinner so you can hate homosexuality but not the homosexual. Do I agree and celebrate gayness? No. I pray that they will see the light and turn to God and God will heal them.

The FACT is that Trump has lost his edge, his charm and his political acumen.
I fear the relentless attacks, the loss in 2020 and the constant legal harassment has taken its toll and broke the man.

There is always the possibility that POTUS sees all Americans as Americans first and hyphenated Americans second.
When standing on the Declaration and the Constitution all of us are created equal, with equal rights before God and Country. It is the overreach of “special” rights that upsets the Apple cart. POTUS still strives to ensure that our government “of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth”!
Let us not confuse lifestyles with rights and always respond with a gentle spirit and ask which rights a person of ________ belief is not enjoying in this great land of ours?
The fact that others may disagree with our beliefs, political views, or lifestyle choices does not negate our rights, it may hurt our FEELINGS, but we do not have a “Right” to live without having our beliefs, lifestyles, political views questioned or our feelings hurt.
I am sure the group in question would like safe streets, a secure border, an end to fentanyl trafficking, etc.
As a Christian I am compelled to pray for and witness to those who are lost without Christ that they may repent and be saved, not grind them under a boot heel. I often find myself in need of examining myself before God as to my spiritual condition and need for forgiveness as tempers can flare and less than loving remarks spew forth from an unbridled tongue.
Let us look at the whole picture of POTUS actions in the grand scheme of what must needs be done to deliver our nation from the evils we are seeing unfold at home and across the world. It is a long grind to 2024 and POTUS is forcing all into the open that we might see the fruit on their tree now versus later.
