Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the CIA of murdering his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, in a tweet on December 16, 2022. He called the JFK assassination a “successful coup d’etat.”

The decades long CIA suppression of documents and testimony in the Kennedy Assassination is deeply suspicious. If there were a Soviet role, that would have been made public. As it is, the Mexican angle is implausible because, with the assistance of the Mexican government, the US government had the Soviet spy effort in Mexico under close surveillance.

Moreover, for decades, two FBI spies, brothers Morris and Jack Childs, had privileged access to the Soviet hierarchy, and their information definitively ruled out Soviet involvement in the killing of JFK. In addition, soon after the assassination, Robert Kennedy became convinced that Lyndon Johnson and the CIA had been responsible for killing JFK and sent word to the Soviets that he knew that the assassination was entirely domestic in nature.

In a deathbed recording, E. Howard Hunt described the JFK assassination as due to a plot initiated by Lyndon Johnson and carried out by an element in the CIA, with retired CIA senior officer Cord Meyer as the key planner. And, based on private information, I know for certain that CIA officer David Atlee Phillips used the cover name Maurice Bishop, with testimony on record that Bishop/Phillips met with Lee Harvey Oswald before the assassination.

The best reading of the evidence as to Oswald's trip to Mexico is that the assassination plot was constructed so that Oswald was induced to go to Mexico to meet with Soviet spies and officials in the hope of getting approved for residence in Cuba. After the assassination, Oswald's Mexican trip provided an effective way to convince the Warren Commission and the larger American intelligence community that a cover up of the proof of a conspiracy was essential to averting a nuclear confrontation with the USSR.

Too many amazing coincidences:

1.Oswald leaves the Marine Corps to defect to the USSR and after "attempting suicide", is allowed to stay. He returns to the US 2 plus years later and not only retains his American citizenship but is allowed to bring his Soviet wife.

2. Oswald writes a detailed account of his time in the USSR - which is included in the Warren investigation as one of the appendices - and it's well-written and is an unflattering day-by-day account of his observations/experiences in Minsk at Television Factory #2. Which has the appearance of being a US agent's Contact Report.

3. Oswald moves to New Orleans and becomes involved in the Fair Play for Cuba organization in which he appears to be the only member - and once again, coincidentally, has his office downstairs from the local FBI field office.

4. Amazingly, he is filmed passing out leaflets and being interviewed during this period.

5. Oswald goes to Mexico City to attempt to defect to Cuba but is unsuccessful but is observed and filmed the whole time he is there.

6. Oswald moves to Dallas and attempts to shoot General Walker at very close range but mysteriously misses him, despite being a trained shot.

7. Oswald is captured after President Kennedy and Officer Tippet are shot to death, after leaving his rifle at the scene of the crime and fired cases on the floor.

8. Oswald is jailed at the Dallas Police station and is filmed being led through the station in which he points to his black eye and complains that he was hit by the police - a completely natural reaction for someone who has just allegedly assassinated the President.

10. Oswald is murdered by Jack Ruby before he can say anything more.

Odd, ain't it? Sure seems as though Oswald was a paid informant for the government and then "burned" to provide a fall guy to cover up and very professional hit on JFK.

Once the USSR was gone, proof of Soviet involvement in the JFK assassination could have safely been revealed. Or if Cuba had an active role, once Fidel Castro was dead, the news would have been greeted with a near shrug since the Kennedy administration was long ago revealed to have plotted to kill Castro.

So just what is being withheld from public release and why? Since the assassination took place in the US almost sixty years ago and the CIA is legally restricted to foreign intelligence and covert action abroad, how could today's "sources and methods" be endangered in a meaningful way?

The most plausible reason for documents being withheld is to protect the CIA and FBI as institutions. The revelation of involvement in the JFK assassination and cover up would correctly lead to calls for reform and limitations on the power of those agencies and inquiries into more recent abuses. The JFK assassination is a loose thread that could unravel the security arm of the administrative deep state even today.
